Stumbled across these in my travels and thought Id post them. Lonely Planet ebooks on the Big W eBook website for England, Europe, Asia and the Phillipines. There may be other free ebooks these are just the ones I found.

  Seems to be a few free ones in most categories. As for how useful or interesting they are, that will be up to the reader.

  Never seen these cheaper titles, but looks similar to mini-guides produced by LP produced for tourist authorities to give away.

  "Bought" 5 FREE books - stored in my BigW eBook library in case I want to read some time.

  Apart from the free ones, you may be better getting a full eBook edition of major recent edition guides for $10 each.

  I think a section or two of the Phillipines have been rendered out of date by the Typhoon Haiyan tragedy. :(

  By the way that vintage Across Asia on the Cheap that kickstarted LP is also a free Kindle download.

    FREE is always a holiday inspiration for me ;-)

    But guidebooks are only a possible starting point (check latest ideas from travellers on LP site or Tripadvisor, etc.)
    They are always out of date, viewing locations from a limited viewpoint.
    Go beyond & be challenged!

    And the local retailers wonder why we shop elsewhere. Sigh.

    Just today I read a news report on how there is a shortage of IT professionals in Oz, but hirers won't take on graduates, and they outsource IT overseas. They get what they pay for.
