    They are fine for kitchens. Lots of people do it.
    Its not like a bathroom or laundry, which are much wetter.
    
    Easier to clean than tiles, and less breakage if you drop things.
    
    Not much of a bargain compared to Ikea Tundra at $13-15 per square.
    This is thicker, which might be advantageous in a commercial environment, but they do not rate it for that.

  Yes. Just don't leave pooled water sitting on them. Some people are extremely challenged in this regard and don't like to look after their stuff.
