so should university and health care
So I suppose you volunteer for a museum so they don't have wages to pay?
Oh and forget seeing tyrannosaurs because that costs the museum money.
Maybe they should give you a free pass because you could do with a good education on the real world.
the admission price bound to get more expensive (less funding from government)

Sure, but only if you want your taxes to go up accordingly.
Taxes won't have to go up if we don't have to "support" corrupt politicians' visit to friends' weddings and crap systems like MyKi.
btw. the replica skeleton of a t-rex in the exhibition is nicknamed 'Scotty' :-)
Melbourne Museum Free - for Seniors anyway.
The worst thing about it is that people over 15 are considered adults and thus you cannot benefit from family passes. It is complete BS as 16 or 17 year old ones are still part of a family and do not have sutainable source of income.
Good deal, they don't often have special prices.
Also, Museum Victoria members get reciprocal free entry to the Australian Museum if you already have that.
Always wary of these 'new customer only' deals. Usually I sign up (whether they be zoos, hair salons, newspapers) for a deal for example: get priority entry to see the new elephants, $15 off, 2 weeks free papers (sign up for 52 weeks) or whatever but then (six months to a year later) for new customers they come out with this great deal for two years membership for the price of one, or 30% off or something better than a free entry to an exhibition/$15 off etc. example. What other deals (if any) have been available to new customers in the past? I am interested in joining but willing to wait (as I don't want to use my 'new' customer status on a dino exhibition). What are the chances a better deal will role along in the next few years? Single Adult so it would cost $70 yearly membership. The family offer offers much better value for $18 more. 2 adults, 2 kids. I'm assuming they want to entice more numbers for the food/souvenir shops. Have A.M. offered good introductory membership deals for singles in the past?
Reading some responses apparently they don't offer many special deals and prices are set to rise? Anyone else confirm?
The Powerhouse Museum currently has a $99 household offer for 18 months linked to the Game Masters exhibition.
That's cheaper than their standard 12 month membership and it includes students up to the age of 18 in the house.
It's a pity that the Powerhouse & Australian Museums don't have a joint membership.
museums should be free~
