I picked up the WD10EADS this week from 9289 for $144 including shipping.
IMO the extra cache and new model is worth an extra $14.
Well, 1I still haven't received my drive from 9289 yet
I ordered last Thursday paid on Friday and got it on Wednesday. My office is only about a 30 minute drive from their store though
same here mate, waiiiiting for step 3
Sorry, but I also think the price differential between this deal and the 32MB cache model isn't great enough to earn a +ve.
MSY also have WD 3.5" 1TB SATA (guessing it's the current WD10EADS model) for $144 (pickup) ATM.

Both Netplus and PLE Computers in perth have the EADS for $129 pickup… Delivery to the east coast is under $15…
Its still a $5-10 saving but I'd rather have the newer/faster model. For those who don't care its a ~7% saving.
netplus have free shipping for ocau members
Yeah they do, but you have to order 3 different items in one order to qualify. And not everyone is an OCAU member ;)
I wonder who will break the $100 mark first with these things.
Nice waiting on delivery now.
Good for storage… not so much for running your OS on.
almost tempted to buy another 2 of these!
yeh i could do with another 2 for the htpc
"We are sorry, the item requested is no longer available / discontinued."
looks like its back ^_^
Strictly While Stock Last
I.E. we have five of them.
No stock, no bargain.
it was there for the entire time this was posted, you snooze you lose!
Average price for an average HDD
Only 8MB Cache vs 32MB in other WD models - namely the WD10EADS which is $128.90 @ Netplus and $129 at PLE
Still good for those who don't live in WA, or who aren't willing to spend the extra $10
hmm thought this was a 5400 RPM drive, but looks like it comes in both:
"Western Digital claims the drive is 5400 - 7200 RPM. Many on the web have speculated that this means the drive dynamically adjusts the RPM based on load. However, Western Digital has recently come forward announcing that this means some drives run at 5400RPM, while others run at 7200RPM."
old stock small cache but decent price.
