  • that's quite some rope light

  • Red white green and multi color avail.
Ordered one of each for pickup.

Says these are connectable to 90 meters.

    • Decided as these are not led I cancelled my order.
Should have read the description better and not assumed they were led.
      Thanks anyway op.

  • Unsure But where can you get 10MTRs of rope light these days for $10 everywhere i saw is at least $25-30

  • Available online for delivery, flat rate $9ish.

Does "fused bulbs" mean it isn't LED?

    • Isn't led.

      • Really? Well that sucks.

    • Nope each 10m sucks in about 200watts

Surprised these suckers are still legal

      • Thanks, I was about to ask how much power it uses. So 200W is accurate or are you guessing?

        • one of those nightly Watt Meters http://www.belkin.com/conserve/insight/

I bought couple from Bunnings and 1 at masters last year, they are both different brands and identical materials, the ends are the compatible and join together mix and match.

Masters doesn't list the specs however bunnings one is comparable length and fused bulbs
          http://www.bunnings.com.au/lytworx-10m-360-bulb-clear-festiv…

just one measures at around 190 Watts
together the 3 suckers drew around 550 watts

Worst of all Blue Green and White they all look the same in the dark, incandescent yellow

        • LED is the way to go using it all year. If it is just for Christmas lights running say 4 hours a day and we assume a worst case of 200w:

          0.2Kwh x 4h = 0.8Kwh

That's about 20c a day or $4 for the 20 days used. LED lights are just so much more expensive it is going to take a looong time to pay back the higher initial cost.

          These are $1 per M. LED are $5 a M.

        200W? That sounds unlikely.

Says 'Function - steady on mode'. Does this mean no effects just on all the time ?? If it had chasing effects i would buy a few even though not LED

Correct.. I didn't check this myself and bought 9.. then got home and found a) the multi coloured are not the same range even though they are also $10 and don't join together with the red and green ones and b) the red and green ones don't flash. So overall cant say I am super happy but still not too bad… the extendable ones do make it a bit easy by joining together so I only have two extension leads rather than 6.

    • damn, bunnings is half the distance from my house then masters.

  • bought some from Masters at North lakes

  • Does anyone have any info on why these were recalled? Masters left a message on my phone saying they'd been recalled and they would cancel my order and refund my money (I don't think they realised I had already collected them). So they're now free, but if they're a risk of catching fire I'll throw them out. If not, I'll keep them.
