Today we're offering our premium Maya's Blend for only $24.95 including free shipping Australia wide. This is a delicious blend of peaberry beans from both Zimbabwe and Zambia as well as beans from the Sidama region of Ethiopia. We've used only the best beans in this blend and they all come together wonderfully for a bright, well balanced and medium bodied flavour. Citrus acidity leads into a tasty malty cocoa body before a smooth finish that entices you to drink more. It's a blend we're very proud of and trust that all coffee lovers will enjoy.

Cool! Great to finally hear some good news about farming in Zim.

Interested to know what species etc. the crops are - do you have any more details OP?

    • Thanks, yeah it is nice to be able to offer coffee from Zim, it certainly is close to our heart. The Zim varietals include Catimor 128 and Caturra (which the peaberry beans come from). They're grown at altitudes of 1100-1300 meters and are a washed bean, then sun-dried for six to eight weeks. They originate in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe near the border with Mozambique and have the benefits of the fantastic fertile soil that this area offers. A really tasty cup thats nice to savour. :)
Plus, regarding the Zambian bean, it comes from an area nearing the Zimbabwean border and is of the SL28 varietal and grown at around 1200 meters. It's also rainforest alliance certified which is of benefit to the local spectacular wildlife in the area. And the Sidama bean is a local heirloom variety grown approximately 2000 meters above sea level, and due to this heirloom origin it's a slightly irregular sizing, but very juicy and bright tasting bean.

      Me, too.
Just opened the second order of Zimbabwe Peaberry, and it won't be the last from Safari Roast.
      Highly recommended.

      • Thanks for the recommendation, and keep enjoying your coffee :)

  • out of stock

    • Sorry about that ilsan, just in the midst of getting another bargain ready in the next day or two :)

  • All good rep, bought the Verona deal

  • Pretty underwhelmed with mine. I'm no heavy coffee drinker and usually don't like strong ones, but this is very weak.

    • How do you brew your coffee - espresso, plunger, etc?
I always drink espresso coffee & found it great, certainly not weak.

      • I have a Jura Ena Micro 9 One Touch - a small fully auto. It does all right with other beans I've tried, but these seem really weak. The beans seem very dry and light (in weight). I'm wondering if I got a batch that has been overdone.

        • I've just read quite a few review of this machine & it seems lots of people are complaining about it making weak coffee.
Some say the grind needs to be adjusted by Jura as at the finest setting the coffee is still fairly coarse.
Others say there's a problem with filters - either they are too wet from previous pours or there is a hole in the filter resulting in weak coffee.
I use a fully manual old style machine - Isomac Tea & quality separate grinder, so can really help you with your machine other then post what others said.
Just want to clarify - I'm not saying there's no problem with your coffee - maybe you did get a bad batch. But I guess it could also be machine problem.
Hope you get it sorted out soon.
