If you can get over 60 per bag, then this is a good deal.

Haha, OP's name totally suits this bargain!

    • Haha I saw the OP's name as well and was about to comment!

  • I am smelling spam here. Two posts only and both for Groupon, combined with that handle..

Also, not that good of a deal when you can buy lanterns this time of year (400g) for $10. Unless you plan on buying all novelty shapes (and you may not be allowed to buy only them) or you must have the more obscure flavours, then this deal is not that good.

    • I would give the benefit of doubt for now. Maybe they subscribe to Groupon and is just handpicking the deals this user likes best or thinks OzB would like.

As for the deal, sounds like it would be fun (to stuff a bag full of chocolate), but probably not the best value, I agree.

      • you nailed it tanoshiiki. I don't have anything to do with Groupon, don't even know anyone who works there. I'm just a big foodie and when there's something worth sharing I share :)

        Enjoy

Maybe I'll spread my wings and venture outside Groupon to see what fruitful delights are out there. Does anyone know of any other good food sites?

  • OP - are you representing either company?

    • No I don't work for groupon just subscribe to the deals

    $25/kg at Target. ($30 for 1.2kg)

RRP of $100/kg bucks is obscene, even if you do get the choice of more flavors.

Coles also are $25/kg if you get the 400g mixed box at the moment.

      Also Toblerone mini's are $12.50/kg :) (404g box)

well they need to cover groupon's 40% margin and still turn a profit somehow

  • FYI, each 1kg bag contains approximately 80 chocolates. I got three bags the other day.

I got the chocolates in the Lindt Melbourne Collins Street store. There was a reasonable selection but they did not have my favourite White chocolates. The Southbank (Melbourne) store apparently has more selctions.

    Regards
    Daniel

    • Did they have the smaller novelty shapes? You could probably fit more weight of those into a bag. Those are something that are obscenely expensive to buy and generally come packaged in small quantities.

      • It is all driven by weight and to answer your question, there were those novelty Christmas chocolates available as well.

  • Seeing the pricing reminds me of Lindt Hot Chocolate flakes which I have had to wean the family off. I was buying them for something like $7.79 a tin from Woolies … and you only get something like 6 cups out of a tin. Having said that the family preferred it to the much cheaper Cadbury's, and so they should as it works out at something like 8 times a cup more expensive (I worked it out but have forgotten).

When the 'bites' packet was on special, I was wondering how hot chocolate from Cadbury's Flake' would compare :)
