  I have this lens. It's rubbish. Very poor image quality.

  This is an old kit lens that used to come with the entry level DSLRs such as the 400D. It's a very basic lens with no IS. They have since replaced it with a 55-250 EF-S IS.

  Being f/5.6 at the long end and no IS makes it pretty unstable as the extended end turns as you focus.

  Good for a beginner if you want to play with a long lens. On a cropped body the effective length will be over 450mm.

  Not worth at this price. Often see these turn up at pawnbrokers for less than $100.
