  • I just registered Pokemon and Professor Layton on the weekend :(

  • +1

Anyone know of any good bundle deals? Missed out on the 3ds xl and new zelda :(

  • I have UK copies of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.

If anyone with an imported UK console/club nintendo membership wants to swap either of mine for Australian Club Nintendo codes for this promotion (or has codes they otherwise don't want) let me know.

As far as I can tell the UK codes can't be redeemed on Australian club Nintendo and my Australian purchased 3DS can't register on the UK club Nintendo.

  • If anyone wants to sell their free copy for a reasonable price PM me

    • I bet a reasonable price is 20 right…. -.-

      • Nah not expecting anyone to get rid of their copy for $20

        • +4

          I'd say $30 is a reasonable price.

  • If I buy the zelda 3ds bundle (with the digital version of the game), will I be able to register the game or do I need to buy it separately (ie. a physical copy of zelda)?

    • +1

As far as I know, when you register the game code on the eShop, you will get it registered to your Club Nintendo account, provided it is linked to the eShop already.

      • Yeah, but does it count as a Club Nintendo game registration?

Otherwise, when they give you 3D land, you'll get the 200pts as well?

        • +1

You can check it being registered on your account. This is my dig version of Phoenix Wright
          http://imgur.com/X8gBgKY

They also ask if you would like to do the survey (which I already did)

    • My Mario Kart 3DS XL bundle came with the game pre-installed. It came with a Club Nintendo code for both the console and game in the box. This is different to digital downloads you purchase yourself, which are automatically registered to whatever Club Nintendo account you have linked to the 3DS. I'm waiting to register both, hoping it will work so I can get Super Mario 3D Land for free. I'm assuming the Zelda bundle is the same (pre-installed game + code in box).

That's all well and good but are you half manbear and half pig or half man half bear and half pig?

  • So, just to confirm…

In less than 11 hours, this goes live and we'll be able to get the codes?

    • It will go live after 2:01am SYDNEY time. Please note if you are living in QLD, we don't have daylight savings.

    • Sydney AND Melbourne time.

I guess I'll be staying up late just to play mario.

    GAME DOWNLOADED! :)

Registration for the free download is available today! Here is the FAQ:

I'm not a member of Club Nintendo – how can I sign up?

In order to become a Club Nintendo member, you need to register at least one registrable Nintendo system or boxed game on the Club Nintendo website. You can find a red product registration card inside the packaging of all current Nintendo systems (excluding Wii U) and many Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 2DS, Wii and Nintendo DS games – enter the printed code on the Product Registration section of the Club Nintendo site and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Please note that downloadable versions of games downloaded from Nintendo eShop cannot be registered if the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL or Nintendo 2DS system used to download them is not first linked to a Club Nintendo account; as such, they cannot be used to become a Club Nintendo member. Also, some older boxed titles may no longer be registrable, as product registration codes can expire.

How do I connect my Nintendo 3DS system to my Club Nintendo account?

You can find details of how to link your Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL or Nintendo 2DS system to your Club Nintendo account on our Nintendo 3DS Support page. It is important that you allow 24 hours after linking your Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL or Nintendo 2DS system to your Club Nintendo account before downloading any titles from Nintendo eShop, to ensure that they are successfully registered to your account.
How do I register a downloadable version of an eligible game with Club Nintendo?
Providing the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL or Nintendo 2DS system that you download them to is connected to your Club Nintendo account, any downloadable versions of games downloaded from Nintendo eShop will be added to the My Registered Games and Systems section of your Club Nintendo account page. You can then visit this page and click the 'Claim Stars for this download' link to complete the registration survey as normal. Once you have completed the survey the game will be registered to your Club Nintendo account.
For downloadable versions of eligible games, the registration survey within Club Nintendo must be completed by 9:59am AEDT January 14th 2014, for any eligible downloadable version to count toward this promotion. Please also note that downloadable versions of games downloaded from Nintendo eShop cannot be registered if the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL or Nintendo 2DS system used to download them is not first linked to a Club Nintendo account.

Do bundles count towards the promotion?

Yes. For Nintendo 3DS XL White with Mario Kart 7 pre-installed, Nintendo 3DS XL Black with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate pre-installed and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Limited Edition Nintendo 3DS XL Pack, only one Club Nintendo registration code is included, so registering this single code will count towards the promotion.
Nintendo 3DS XL White with Super Mario 3D Land is not eligible to be registered as part of this promotion.

I already bought and registered a Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL and eligible game before the promotion began – can I still claim?

Eligible products registered before the promotion start date do not count towards the promotion.

I have registered a Nintendo 3DS/Nintendo 3DS XL system and eligible game but I haven't received my download code yet… what should I do?
If it is less than seven days since you claimed your free download code, please be patient – while we aim to send you a code as soon as possible after registration, there may be an unexpected delay in the email process. If it is more than seven days since you registered for your free download code and you haven't received it, please do the following: Log into Club Nintendo website and check the banners at the top of the page – any download code allocated to your account through this promotion will be shown here. Check the Spam/Junk folder of your email account, as your Club Nintendo email may have been directed here depending on how your email account is set up. Check that the email address linked to your Club Nintendo account is correct in the My Personal Data section of the Club Nintendo website. If it isn't, then the email address provided during the registration process may also be wrong – please enter the correct email address and then contact Nintendo Customer Service
If – having registered a Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL system and an eligible game, conformed to the Terms & Conditions of this promotion and followed the above steps – you still don't have your free download code, please contact Nintendo Customer Service.

When can I redeem my download code?

As soon as you receive it. Codes will be sent out as soon as possible following your claim. You must redeem your free download code by 9:59am AEDT on 14th March 2014.

Which Nintendo 3DS system do I have to redeem my download code through?
You can use your free download code to download your game onto any Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL or Nintendo 2DS system with access to Nintendo eShop via an internet connection (acceptance of the Nintendo 3DS Service User Agreement and Privacy Policy required). You cannot, however, download the same game onto multiple Nintendo 3DS systems.

Is there an expiry date on my free download code?
Yes – you must redeem your free download code by 9:59am AEDT on 14th March 2014.

For full Terms and Conditions click here.

  • Site is being hammered now!

    Can't register anything.

  • Bummer. I bought my 3DS XL back when Amazon UK had a great deal on - but it's just throwing a "This product code is expired. You can no longer register this product." error at me when I try to claim it. That's a little annoying! I assumed it should work?

    • That won't work.

      UK 3DS don't register on ClubNint(AU) and AU 3DS-Games don't register on ClubNint(UK).

      • Yeah, just unfortunately realising that now. Was all prepped and ready to download my game too, hah. What a shame.

      • +2

You will need to register the 3DS console on the UK club nintendo site.
        http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/club_nintendo/club_not_l…

You will also need UK game codes.

I have an AUS console but have purchased UK versions of both Pokemon X and Pokemon Y so if you need to I can swap my UK codes for either of these Pokemon games for Australian codes for any of the eligible games in this promo.

        • Thanks for the link, and for the offer too. :)

All of my games are local and AU, except for my console. I just needed to get my 3DS XL registered in order to be eligible for this promo. If you'd like to do some sort of swap here I'd definitely be interested to help out!

        • If you don't know anyone with an address in the UK you'll just have to make up a street address for the account.

Of course you won't be able to ship anything from the rewards catalogue (as they will go to whatever address you made up for the account) but you can still get the on-line stuff.

  • Wooohooo got it :D I just had to register my 3DS XL Zelda version and it just gave me the promo invite!! No need to register a game after that. I got a Pokemon Y and an extra Zelda code if anyone wants to trade for a non-promo game code? I also have the dig version of Zelda if anyone wants to buy off of me.

  • Just got a promo code for the UK eStore if anyones interested in trading for an AU code of sorts? :)

    • You can use that on your console.

      • Tried, its region locked! Can't use it.

        • Ah, you simply have to change your 3DS region to UK, then go to the eShop and redeem the code.
Then you can change back to Australian, if you want. The game will still work.

        • Oh, great - I'll give that a shot then. Thank you! :)

        • remember you can't switch eshop regions in the future…

        • +1

At an as yet undetermined date in December the "update" will occur.

          http://www.vooks.net/upcoming-3ds-update-wont-allow-eshop-re…

After the update and you register a Nintendo Network ID you won't be able to change eshop region, till then you can still change back and forth.

You won't need a Nintendo Network ID to purchase software and add-on content from Nintendo eShop. However, you will need to register a Nintendo Network ID in order to download free software, demos and downloadable videos, combine your Nintendo eShop balances on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS and use Miiverse (whatever that is) on your 3DS.

        • +1

That's fine. I downloaded Mario successfully last night after switching my region to UK, then switched it back to AU after downloading it. Should be fine now, as I have no reason to switch back in the future.

        • Glad it worked.

  • I have a pokemon Y UK Pin but a AU console, if anyone is interested to trade for a AUS promo pin. PM me

  • Registered both codes that came in my White 3DS XL + Mario Kart 7 bundle with no problems, and downloaded the game on the UK eShop :D

  • I just claimed mine. Registered the Zelda 3DS. One code was all that was required as it included the game in it! Too easy

    • On that note, I just claimed the Pikmin Tote bag from clubnintendo. I had one code that didn't work for me so I think it might be a European code. Feel free to use it because I can't be bothered working out how!

      EOHW0JGTRLC35M0

      • By the way, pretty sure ^^^ this code ^^^ is for Pokemon X

  • This is so unfair to early adopters of 3DS, I have one of those 15 games but I already used me 3DS code…. :(

    • It's not for early adopters of 3DS. Besides we got 20 free games.

      • WE DO? please tell me!

        • +1

Its too late for you if you didn't redeem it.

        • :( thats ok i probably own them already.

        • The Ambassador program - if you bought your 3DS within 6 or so months of launch, before they dropped the price by ~$50 (I think), you became a 3DS ambassador and got 10 free NES games and 10 free GBA games. A few really good ones, a few ok-ish ones.

  • Does anyone know how big the D/l is?

    • 512mb.

    • ~2300 blocks.

      • If we want to upgrade SD card for bigger size is it as simple as copying everything on the old to the new one and inserting?

side note: does class 10 speed help at all?

        • Probably not.

It's not like you can take high res photos/videos with the 3DS.

Also, the eshop download speed is often the limiting factor as opposed to the SD card speed. Anything over class 6 is overkill. In fact, even class 4 works good enough.

        • Yeah, you just copy and paste it over to the new card.
Class 10 doesn't make much of a difference apparently.

        • Cheers guys, will do. Downloading Super Mario 3D Land as we speak (used my bros 3ds code lol)

  • My calender reminder went off today about registering for this. Had my 3DS for a couple of months now and just registered it with pokemon and bam got the download code and downloading now! Awesome find Masternoob, Good stuff :D

  • -2

I have a copy of Zelda with an unregistered code. Happy to trade it for some other nintendo product codes since I collect the points.

Also wanting to sell the download copy of Super Mario 3D.

Anyone interested in either PM me :)

  • I have an Australian Zelda Code and would like to trade for a UK game code.

    PM Me!

    • PM sent!

      • Traded! Just started played Mario too, Awesome!

  • I have a UK Fire Emblem code and would like to trade for an Australian game code.

    PM Me!

(shamelessly copied and altered from fatal above)

  • I've registered my 3DS XL and game. It now says 'Congratulations! You're now eligible to claim a free download code for SUPER MARIO 3D LAND!' so I fill that out and click the T&C box and it directs me to a page that says 'Thank you for participating in this promotion!' with nothing else. Where do I get my download code?

    • +1

I got this from the T&Cs: "The download code will be sent to you per email to the email address registered in your Club Nintendo account."

I also got the same message, so I think it takes time for it to be sent to your email.

This is available for Australia now, no need to region change.

      • +1

I still didn't receive the email. Do these steps:

        1. Login to your club Nintendo account (24 hours after you redeemed your codes)
        2. Click on the banner to claim your free code
        3. Fill in the survey again
        4. On the next page, you should see your code

I think you need to wait 24 hours after your register your codes, as the banners have said.

I got my code right now doing this.

        • Thanks! It worked!
