yeah I'm pretty sure i'd buy a HP microserver. I saw your NAS deal the other day but would prefer to buy without harddrives. Will keep a look out and hide my wallet somewhere in the meantime.

        • Do people use the HP microserver as a NAS? I'm using a raspberry pi at the moment. Would the HP Microserver be better? I'm not using any RAID on mine though.

        • I actually wanted to buy a raspberry pi to use for media on a server but I want something contained with multiple drives. as far as I know people use them as NAS' with sickbeard/ios setup as HTPC's. Benefit of the HP means you can install windows/more flexible then a NAS.

        • +1

You can install sickbeard on a raspberry pi. In fact, if you use the xbian distribution, you can get sickbeard, transmission, sabnzbd, headphones and couch potato all in one single shot, and it's easy to configure too.

I have mine connected to a few external USB hard drives using a powered usb hub.

  • Sorry, not buying now. Waiting for a 256gb evo or pro deal.

  • Thanks for that. I just bought one. Been waiting for a good deal on a small SSD for the OS on my Windows media center.

  • any micro sd deals? :P

      surely —- coming soon ——-

  • Nice needed a SSD, just grabbed the SanDisk Ultra Plus 128GB. Good deal!

Just need a cheap 22" Display now :P

  • Rep, I wanted to buy the 64GB SSD for my media player…it says out of stock? Am I too late for this deal?

    • Sold out on the 64GB.

      • I was afraid of that. Any more new stocks coming? I don't see a good reason to put a 128GB SSD into a HTPC running only XBMC. The whole setup + windows 7 uses less than 20GB.

  • So can someone tell me… If i bought the recent Toshiba laptop deal, it has 1TB + 8 GB SSD

Can I put in like a 240 GB and have the 1TB too? Or do i have to only pick one or the other?

    Toshiba P50-A106

    • +2

      Hi AussieMark,

If your laptop have an optical drive slot, you can source for an "SSD Optical bay" to house either your SSD or 1TB drive onto - so you can have both drives on the laptop.

Rep will the 64GB be back in stock before the end of the promotion? Wanted to buy it last night but was too tired and now it is out of stock. :(

  • REP, any hybrid HDDs, I am after a 500gb, like the Seagate ST500LM000, which I've seen on clearance, but sadly missed out for $79.00.

  • Ah damn it, I was going to buy one when I got home from work, but I totally forgot to do it :( Sigh I'll just have to hold out till the next one.
