Animal Crossing for 3DS $39 at Target, Save $16

490

Hey everyone, was just looking through the Target Christmas catalogue and i saw Animal Crossing for 3ds going for 39 dollars. Pretty good price considering JB Hi-Fi has it for $59 and EB Games has it pre-owned for $47. Bought mine for $50 dollars, so a local price of $39 is great.

Had to force myself to stop playing this as my 30 other 3ds games were not getting any love. Great price for local 1st party Nintendo game. Jump on it!

wow so cheap for animal crossing! pick it up if you dont already have it!

  • I don't have it, learned the hard way with previous games… I'm not repeating my lost hours into AC.

I do, however encourage everyone else to purchase the game and enjoy AC in all its' glory.

  • The digital copy would be better right? As this is a game you really should have constantly on the system?

    • I recently purchased Phoenix Wright for my 3ds a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, my 3ds's bottom touchscreen became unresponsive so i could not system transfer and lost 40 dollars as a result. There are risks with digital copies. The advantage is always having it there with you. The unlikely disadvantage is your 3ds screws up and you lose your games. I really hate the fact that games are bound to your system and not an account. :(

Additionally i think the e-shop version is more expensive.

      • That's a very flawed system Nintendo has right there… As if region-locking wasn't bad enough

With the Nintendo Network ID coming in place soon…you won't even be able to switch regions anymore. Like with Phoenix Wright, it was cheaper in the UK, so I switched to the UK eShop and got it there (lost a Club Nintendo code as I had no UK Club Nintendo account but meh). Newer 3DS owners won't have that option available to them. This also hurts in terms of different release dates (sometimes a release in Europe may not even come to Australia).

        • Hold onto that UK code. I bought Luigis mansion Fire Emblem and Donkey kong from UK and they released the "so many games" promotion. I registered all 3 games and got animal crossing for free digitally (had to log on to UK region for code to work). It is a good thing to have animal crossing on your system. probably the only game I would prefer digitally, but many negatives about having digital games. One being running out of space on memory card as well as the ones mentioned above. Also when the next DS comes out you wont be able to play your digital games on it perhaps?

      • I would have thought you could contact Nintendo to get that sorted out.

        • i did call them. The response i received was that "Nothing can be done about that." :(

        • Definitely not buying digital copies then. I bought that Ace Attorney because I had to.

        • Did you threaten to report them to the ACCC, then actually report them to the ACCC, cos thats what I would have done.

  • ahh snap I just bought my copy a few days ago :(

I love Gok. Makes me feel very satisfied with all the specials he has to offer

  • Does anyone know if this is just a special or if it is clearance?

    • Considering the game has only been around for a few months and is still very popular, I'd say it's just a special. Quite a few stores in NSW have already sold out of the game on Thursday (when the sale began) so I'd recommend calling up first!

  • Just picked the game up today at highpoint, Melbourne. They said that they have plenty of copies left.

  • Price matched at EB and got a preowned copy for $29. Cheers OP

  • even the new professor layton is pretty cheap at $49
