Dulux Weathershield 6L Low Sheen White Exterior Paint $69.90 @ Bunnings

I needed some self-priming low sheen white outdoor paint and found this at Bunnings today. I believe this is a limited while stocks last type of deal.

A fairly good price for 6 litres, and it's good quality paint.

As a painter I swear by this stuff. Dulux promise that for as long as you stay in your house they will guarantee against peeling, flaking, blistering etc which is a bloody good guarantee! As long as you prepare the surface and apply it properly of course ;)

    • If I was planning on re-painting an existing weather board house (fibre cement boards I think) would this be a suitable paint?
Existing paint is not flaking but is getting on so needs a cleaning and repainting..

Just be aware that even though it says "self priming", applying water based acrylic over oil based paints can be a recipe for disaster.

That is a great deal, I got mine from Paint Spot Sunshine. They are always cheaper than Bunnings and have 5/6 Knowledgeable staff on the floor at any time. When I paint (which I hate doing) I want to make sure I'm getting the right advice so I get the job done right the first time. Just sayin'.

  • FWIW Choice independently tested a whole bunch of paints recently and Dulux was the most expensive and came up pretty poorly; 3rd from bottom froma field of 20+ manufacturers. Taubman's endure came out on top.

    • Choice tests are usually fairly narrow. What were they testing for?

At this price, this is not expensive, and even in harsh conditions the paint works well - goes on very smoothly and doesn't flake or chip, and doesn't go powdery and does not fade.
