I feel like this could have been worded more good :P

  • Anyone know if these are compatible with the ALDI Expressi machines?

    • +5

They aren't, they're meant for IBM Nespresso or compatible machines.

    • +2

they are not compatible with Aldi or Woolworths 'caffitay' machines. These are Nespresso compatible pods.

      • Any supermarket stocked pods that are compatible with the Aldi machine?

        • The Woolworths 'Caffitaly' pods as mentioned by wallet are compatible with the Aldi machines. as are the Gloria Jeans pods (also stocked by woolies)

Problems I have found: Because of where the filter is located inside the pod, when the coffee is extracted, I have found that some of the grinds make their way into the cup.

Also the Woolworths pods would sometimes get stuck in my Aldi machine and require a good old fashioned hand scalding to pry it out for the next use.

        • Yeah, the ones from Aldi… Aldi's a supermarket…

am I the only one who found those capsule do not really work on my Nespresso machine?

    • +2

I found they work but it drips through nozzle rather than a steady stream when I use nespresso pods.

      • Yeah same here, they work but the stream is very slow and sometimes drip into the pod compartment.

        • i thought it was just me. I get a puddle behind my nespresso machine!! They need to do something about it.
i actually really like the taste of their coffee but the water leaking out the back near electrical equipment scares me a bit.
First time it happened, i didn't realise and i had a power board next to it. Bad things could of happened.

I had the same issues until I realised that I was using the pods incorrectly….and I think a lot of other people might be too.

Make sure to only use the LUNGO pods if you are doing a long coffee (110ml). We were using the espresso pods and trying to do long coffees and had the same issues mentioned (stuttering, poor flow, leakage etc). Now that we only use Lungo pods for long coffee, and espresso pods for short coffee (40ml), the machine (Delonghi Pixie) is running beautifully.

I read on some forums that the coffee in the espresso pods and lungo pods is ground differently and must be used on the correct settting.

The only downside is that there are only 2 Lungo coffees in the LOR range (strength 5 and 8).

  • What's the price of these at woollies?

    • +1

When not on special, $5.99 in store or just over $6 online (for 10 pack).

      • Thankyou

  • yeah I find the pods are not compatible sometimes due to the design…I'm assuming nespresso or whoever have a design patent on the pods so that others cannot copy them neatly cutting out competition.

    • Nespresso design was patented, but it is now expired, that's why you see a lot of "compatible" capsules popping up in the last few years.

      • I think the ruling you're thinking of is in Europe. Also, there's always been lots of compatible capsules but if you look you'll see that none of the capsules look like the nestle pods.

  • If you're expecting these pods to offer an equivalent flavour to nespresso pods you're going to be disappointed. International Roast with plastic notes immediately came to mind after the first sip. I didn't bother with the second to see if it improved - down the sink and in the bin.

    • +1

funny you say that, missus said International roast too…which she dislikes

  • I think they are fine.
I use one Nespresso and one of these every day.
Extends the taste range. Also cheaper.

  • They are acceptable, not great.

Better than instant, worse than Nespresso pods.

  • When you say these pods are not compatible with Aldi coffee machine, are they too big to put into Aldi slot?

    • Too small. Aldi pods are bigger.

  • I think the reason Nespresso POD better is because it use Aluminium for their pod, other vendor use plastic…..by the way, is any other vendors use Aluminium….

  • I usually buy the coles brand pods. $4 a box. I like them but with only a couple of flavours, and drinking 3 a day, they get a bit bland after a while. This deal with the added pair of bodium glasses is pretty decent. might get them and then secret santa the glasses. .

  • My coles had them for $5.99 each. :(

    • The special was in the weekly catalog…..in my local Coles.

      Add: Sorry to hear that….

  • Did anyone hear back from L'OR Espresso after submitted the claim online and posted the paper work?
Not sure if they will contact us after receive the paper work.

    • Well on the T&Cs they said the glasses can take up to 70 days to receive… yeh long time.

  • Hi,
