Retrolink Nintendo 64 USB Controller $22 Excludes Shipping

180
shipbad

Hello everyone,

My shipment of Retrolink products arrived sooner than expected and I said in the last deal I would have a special on the USB 64 controllers when they arrived. So here are the prices below.

Retrolink Nintendo 64 USB controller $22 (3 dollars off) shipping $12 (EDIT: Dropped price another dollar)

Edit: I can ship these for 7 dollars if you trust me to take the item out of the blister packaging. Just select the No packinging n64 model when you order they weight 250 grams. Everything inside the packaging will be sent as well.

I know the price of the shipping sucks and I am really sorry about that. The controllers in the pack are huge and although they weigh less than 500 grams they cannot fit in the 500 gram satchels so they have to be put into a 3 kilo one which costs $11.70 to send and 22 cents for the satchel(I can only fit 2 in the 3 kilo bag as well). What I can do for you is if you purchase another item from my shop and enter the coupon shipbad you will receive a 2 dollar discount on your purchase.

If you don't want to purchase anything else from my shop right now that is fine as well. I will email you a 2 dollar voucher for next time and when my stock expands further you can use it then.

All items below have $7 shipping (if weight hits 500+ grams shipping is 12 and I will email you a $2 coupon)
Retrolink Sega Saturn Controller USB $17 dollars (2 dollars off) (190 grams)
Retrolink Nintendo Controller USB $18 (2 dollars off) (120 grams)
Refurbished Super Nintendo USB Controller $8 (2 dollars off) (120 grams)
These refurbished controllers haven't been used by anyone. They have come to me direct from the factory and something about the buttons hasn't felt right so I have opened them up and either replaced or re-positioned something inside and closed them up again. They are tested and working.

None of these items are genuine Nintendo or Sega products.

There are limited stock on all these items.

Also if there are any Retro controls or items you would like to see in my shop let me know and I will see what I can do in the future. Any feedback about my shop and products is more than welcome.

Cheers

Chris

  • I suppose this is ok if you are buying 2 controllers and want them delivered fast. Can be had cheaper on ebay:
From UK for $18.81 inc. shipping
From Sydney for $34.80 inc. shipping

    • Yeah the shipping sucks which is a real shame. Which is why I am offering a coupon for it with multiple purchases. If I could offer cheaper rates I would.

Where did you find that ebay listing? The cheapest I can find is 20.97 from hong kong and usually the Hong Kong sellers are always the cheapest but it can take forever to arrive.

Just searched 'nintendo 64 usb controller" on ebay.com.au and sorted by lowest price. Shipping times from UK/HK vary a lot, sometimes just a 4-5 days but sometimes 1-2 months so it can be justified paying a couple of extra dollars for local stock. To make a successful deal here you need to make sure the price is significantly lower than the competition so that people like me who have no need for the product buy it on impulse just because it's a great deal and then we'll find a use for it later.

I am pretty sure that listing the guy was having a loss with it and he was clearing it out. I honestly can't compete with that. I really can't find a current listing with the price under 20.97 though. I can drop the price another 50 cents though so I am the cheapest in Australia. :D

I like your store though and wish you success. Is there a legal way to get N64 or SNES games for PC? If so, maybe you should add some information on that to your deal.

        • Thanks I am glad people like my store and thanks for the advice I really do appreciate it. I dropped the price to 22 dollars so with the 2 dollar coupon = $20.

I know the coupon doesn't exactly count as money off since it forces people to spend it with me it is the best I can do any less and it wouldn't be sustainable for me to continue.

I really hate shipping though :/

If there's not a legal way you could just make some sort of vague reference to pirates and bays.

        • There are legal ways to do it. You could get a retrode and a nintendo 64 plugin and play them straight from the cart on your pc. :D

So I guess you use these with N64 roms on the PC?

    • Yeah mainly playing n64 stuff. You could use them for other programs but I wouldn't really recommend them for anything else. I supposed if you played with it enough I am sure you would get used to it just I couldn't imagine when it prompts for you to press the button A and you are trying to think which yellow C button that is. The n64 controller is quite unique.

I wish you well kasp. I've used similar controls for some basic indie games, and its a very fulfilling experience (humble bundle gamers will know).

    • Thanks feedback for my store has been great so far. :D I really hope I can expand my range so I will eventually be the one stop shop for everyone's retro needs and competitively priced as well.

What made me want one of the 64 controls was starfox 64. It really spoiled the experience a bit when they would tell you to press a C button and you had that little pause wondering which button it is.

How are they able to make these without being sued? It looks identical to the original minus the logo. Pretty sure it isn't licensed.

    • The same reason you can buy aftermarket car parts.

    • Not sure but there have been 3rd party remotes for ages.

I think if they start using their logo or claiming to be the real deal they get into trouble which is why they avoid it.

      • -2

The 3rd party ones make themselves look slightly different though. This looks identical but with logo removed. Pretty sure you can't do that.

        • -2

          Pretty sure?

Come back when you find one piece of evidence rather than scaremongering.

        • Perhaps I really am not sure though.

A lot of cars look alike and if you just removed the badge they would be almost identical except when you get into the interior. There are an awful lot of items like that where the only thing that is visibly different is the brand.

The Wii U new controller is practically identical to the new Xbox's if you just moved the thumb stick down.

However I am making a point to let people know that these aren't official products. I can see how people might think they are and I don't want anyone to feel like they were misled.

Cars that are rebadged are authorized and licensed.

Wii U controller is NOT identical to Xbox any more than a Mad Catz Xbox controller is to an official Xbox controller.

They look 'similar' but not identical. Even the triangle, square, X, O symbols on a PS controller have to be redone.

The prints on these controllers your selling are identical. The patterns, buttons, colours, shape, all identical.

These controllers aren't their own take on a controller like Mad Catz… it is exactly 100% the same in every way. Mad Catz knows they can't copy it exactly and get away with it. They don't use any parts in common from an official controller (at least externally). All the sticks, buttons, and casing are their own.

These controller bodies look like a clear counterfeit with only the logo removed. You would never call a car that looked like another car a counterfeit, or a MAd Catz controller a counterfeit.

        • To be fair none of those products use USB so they aren't identical.

They are also missing the branding and I state they aren't produced by Sega or Nintendo so I don't see the problem.

        • In the exact letter of the law you might consider this as a counterfeit, but in a moral sense, I can't see any problem with it.

          Namely because:
          * Nintendo hasn't manufactured these controllers for over a decade.
          * The originals were never USB, or could work with PC.

It'd be different if they were xbox 360 controllers or something (which there are many counterfeits of), but these are just a cool nostalgia piece.

  • Just went to use shipping code - expired (or all used) - can we get this again, I want to place an order :-) - edit - just realised it only happens when Refurb SNES are in the cart - can't complain about no discount here.

Also - adding 2 N64 controllers takes my order from $39 delivered to $96, huge increase - can you do any better on this? I'm after 4 Refurb SNES and 2 x 64 controllers - and I don't care about boxes, happy to have them stripped if they take up too much room.

    • Hey sorry the shipping code only works with a N64 controller in the cart as for the shipping glitch I am really sorry about that. Not even sure what happened there but take my sincere apologies it seemed to be working of grams when it should have been doing kilograms.

  • Will this work if its plugged into an otg cable to a nexus 7 2013?

    • Hey sorry I am really unsure if this will work. My initial thoughts are no it wouldn't and if it was possible it would be too much of a headache to justify it.

    • probably not, but there are various USB joystick adapter programs for android which will allow you to remap different buttons etc. to different features in emulators etc. so you could try it out, but usually I find it easier to retro game using my wii or PS3 controllers over Bluetooth.
