20 units each? Maybe the times should be 8:00PM-8:01PM/9:00PM-9:01PM :)

    • Try 8:00:00PM - 8:00:10PM.

    • +3

Doubled the QTY offered for 120GB, though just a heads up, the extra 20 stock is still on transit so those orders will have an estimated dispatch time of 3-5 working.

      Cheers

      • Is it 40 units then?
Maybe the new times should be 8:00PM-8:02PM/9:00PM-9:02PM :P

I can see how this thread will end. It will get to the top of the page today and by Sunday evening it will be reversed by all negative votes because hardly anyone could get one.

  • It says free shipping next to each SSD, yet down the bottom it say shipping starts at $8.95. So is shipping free or not?

    • It is free shipping, revised the post.

      Cheers

      • I just tried the 240GB Crucial and it says shipping cost of $8.95 to a Sydney suburb.

        • Hi edfoo,

It is working on my end, please ensure you have applied your post code in the shopping cart?

          Cheers

I did put in postcode earlier on and no free shipping shown. Just tried it again and the free shipping is working now. Cheers.

          not free shipping REP

looks like it's updated to free

  • I dont like these deals which starts on certain time but never last 1/10 of that

  • +1

There are some pretty bad reviews on these SSD, buy at own risk.

  • how come only some of these deals get posted to ozbargain? Found the NAS deal last night from your website and missed out. I bet half the $30 vouchers that were bought weren't even claimed/used on NAS. Will your next NAS sale be posted on ozbargain?

    • +1

      Hi sharks,

Rep only have 2 post per week - We won't be able to post everything here from our promotions, but will post NAS promotion in coming weeks on ozbargain. Suggest to continue to keep track (subscribed) of our newsletter deals in case there are some things we left out but were what you were after.

      Cheers

        Thanks.

I subscribed to your email. I look forward to buying a NAS in the future from you guys!

pfft. 20 units. And DSE gets down voted for low stock.

    • Doubled the QTY offered for 120GB, though just a heads up, the extra 20 stock is still on transit so those orders will have an estimated dispatch time of 3-5 working.

  • Sequential write speeds only 130MB/s??

    • Yes. This is normal for smaller drives. When manufacturers say "up to", this is indicative of the speeds under the larger capacity drives, due to the ability to parallel read/write to more memory chips at once.

    • +1

You really only notice the difference in sequential write speeds when copying large (over 1GB) files. Most people won't notice the difference in speeds in general home/office tasks. The biggest difference people notice is the seek times between an SSD and a HDD.

  • All sequential 400-500 MB/s writes are marketing and not real, results of internal compression on specific data set.
You can test it easily with large MKV files with any of advertised 500 MB/sec drives.
You need your stopper, switch off write cache (it copies to RAM and writes to SSD later, than the GUI shows its done) and calculator.

Wish I ever could see a 256 GB mSATA deal with this M5 series.

Should do Samsung/Intel SSD deal, I prefer stick to these two only.

    • +1

Crucial has been at the top end of SSD's and memory for a long time. They are also quick to issue firmware updates IF a problem arises.

    • +1

Agreed, waiting for a Samsung SSD special also here

      • Same here. Samsung's 840 Evo 250GB is going for $174 on amazon which ends up being about $200 shipped to Aus.

ShoppingExpress has it for $189 without shipping so it'll be around the same mark.

If ShoppingExpress can beat that, I take it. Or else Amazon I must go to.

        • +1

Or pick up Samsung 840 EVO 250GB from a local MSY store for $182.

        • True, but as a typical ozbargainer I'm waiting for shopping express to do a special on it and see if it's cheaper here (shipped) or msy picked up

        • Oh I would if only I had a car…learners permit holder, you see.

Unless I can get a good bargain on a car too!

        • Ha yeah all I want is a good deal. Need an SSD to install OSX onto for my almost done hackintosh. Got everything except for a drive to install OSX to. Silly me.

        • Beg a local OzBargainer (with full license) to sit in the car with you :P

  • m500,it says 7mm and 9.5mm with adapter, what's that Mean? I'm looking for 7mm for my e330 which is only support 7mm hdd, will m500 work?

    • Saw this in a review ~ it is 7mm and comes with a 2mm thick adapter to padding it out to 9mms so it can still fit snug and not rattle in larger (more standard?) Laptop spaces.

I usually +1 for SE deals but this is just an attempt by SE to advertise their site.

40 units is pretty bad, the amount of unique hits garnered from the loss leader of these 40 units supersedes the amount that needs to be spent on Adwords by a few fold at least for equivalent foot traffic. Come on SE, you've done heaps for the OzB community! Don't resort to DSE standards!

    • If your deal has limited quantity, please mention it in the description. If the quantity is too small then your deal may be removed. As a guideline, less than 10 quantity of items is not enough for a deal unless the item has a high price.

This deal completely abide by the rules and guideline. If you think the quantity is still too small then report it to the mod and let them decide. Negging this is completely pointless.

  • Hi rep, any promotion for smata ssd?

  • Good job dropping the price of the 480GB rep. $385 wasn't much of a bargain!
    PCCG
    Keep 'em coming :)

  • +3

    Hi, Rep.

Will you be able to do a deal on the Samsung SSDs anytime soon? Looking at the EVOs specifically and wouldn't mind getting one off you guys if there was a good deal available.

    Cheers.

  • Thanks, just bought a 120Gb.

  • me too. thought it would be orbargained by now for sure

  • +2

All the people who thought it would be ozbargained should eat their word. 8:46pm and its still available.

  • I am not surprised it is not sold out yet. I am guessing for $9 more, people may opt for the Samsung 840 EVO 120GB from MSY.

So is the 240GB version, I would pay $3 more and buy 840 EVO from MSY.

    • True, but you would have to go into an MSY shop and deal with the staff there.

      • Just follow the Soup Nazi rules and you will be alright at MSY.

  • +2

Grabbed a 480GB, thanks Rep. Decent price when combined with the free shipping. Would rather the enterprise-like features of the Crucial, power loss protection etc. over the speed of an EVO. Unless you're a benchmark whore you probably wouldn't notice the speed difference in real world applications anyway.
