The dates within that period that I have been keeping my eye on actually went up in price!

This deal is kind of misleading.

You stated "Departures from 08 November 2013 to 26 June 2014. Blackout dates apply.". I can understand the blackout dates applies but i just don't understand within low season dates, it also has so call "shoulder season". If the shoulder dates have different pricing, it should not be included in the "low season" dates. I was planning to travel to HK on 07/02/2014 returning on 21/02/2014 which it stated as "Low Season" but then you have "Shoulder Season" kicks in to different price.

    Low Season:

    08 Nov 2013 - 15 Nov 2013, 03 Feb 2014 - 25 Mar 2014
    01 Apr 2014 - 10 Apr 2014, 28 Apr 2014 - 26 Jun 2014

    Shoulder Season:
    16 Nov 2013 - 13 Dec 2013, 13 Jan 2014 - 02 Feb 2014
    26 Mar 2014 - 31 Mar 2014, 11 Apr 2014 - 27 Apr 2014

Yeah I don't quite follow this - selecting low-season departure & return dates still return fares >$1000

      • is it possible that the 709 quoted is from perth or somewhere where it's typically cheaper to get to asia anyway?

        • potentially - the issue I have is that there isn't sufficient (and somewhat misleading) information to enable us to more easily find these cheap fares; thus it becomes a bit of a random search which is frustrating and time consuming

      • I managed to find one of the $806 fares for SYD-HKG, but it's on the least desirable flight in both directions. It was also only one date combination in their flexible weekly view.

No FF points on CX sale fares is a bummer though.

        • Dont get me wrong, i also found dates which is low price as well but it is not in my case where my date selected (07/02/2014 returning on 21/02/2014) was in the "Low Season" but also listed on "Shoulder Season".

    • It does state the prices start FROM A790. So my guess would be; it's not a flat A790 during low season. Prices can still fluctuate during low season.

This is so misleading, whenever the dates I want, I can't get anything cheap !!!

I didn't realize the deal said kaikor can get flights for $790 for the dates you want. Damn these misleading deals!

      • +1

Agree, unfortunately not just kaikor, many ignore the 'FROM', and just look at the price.
I flew with the family to HK in september, paid about $950.00 return for overnight flights both ways. I booked all the flights about 4 months in advance, and my dad would mention every couple of weeks, I just saw return flights to HK at Flightcentre etc. for $799.00 or what ever, I had to highlight the 'from' and checked with him on the cathay site, for the same flight a month or so prior to flying, the tickets for the same flight and class were about $1050.00.

Hey Rep, I think you should step in and clarify some of our queries.

Damn … wish I didn't buy tickets with Qantas earlier this year. Such an awesome deal!

Thanks op, I found tonnes of flights for $790 for my parents.

REP, you should explain the low, shoulder and high season better in relation to this deal.

  • Well if your based in WA, Aus World Travel is doing the same deal but for $10 less… so its $780. http://www.aus-world.com/
