  • +1

    Agreed thanks need another of these.

  • Thanx op :)

  • Thanks Man, bought one.

  • Anyone care to enlighten me about these HDMI 1.4 cables vs HDMI 1.4b spec'd ones? I see a few of those 1.4b cables on Ebay for roughly the same price.

      • +1

        HDMI 1.4b
        Release Date: October 2011

        Specs:
        Enabled 3D 1080p video at 120 Hz so that each eye can receive full HD (1080p 60Hz—or 120 Hz total) per Eye
        Abstract: An incremental change to allow for Full HD (1080p) viewing of 3D content.

        Practical Issues and tips: Allows for 3D content to be viewed in full HD.

        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        So basically these cables do not support full HD for 3D content?
        • +1
          All High speed HDMI cables from revision 1.3 on will support full HD 3D.
          Those revisions are generally applicable to what HDMI components are able to support, the cables do not know what data is being sent over them.
          The bandwidth for high speed HDMI is 10.2 Gbps, this has not changed from HDMI v1.3 to 1.4b.
          Manufacturers and retailers are not supposed to be using the HDMI version number anymore at all.
          No Use of HDMI Version Numbers Effective Immediately
          Effective January 1, 2012, all HDMI products cannot make any reference to HDMI version numbers.
          http://www.hdmi.org/learningcenter/trademark_logo_pub.aspx
          There are two applicable standards for HDMI cables.
          Standard speed HDMI - support resolutions up to 1080i/720p
          High speed HDMI - support all current HDMI formats.
          As long as the cable is certified high speed HDMI it will support all resolutions/formats supported under HDMI 1.4b.
  • what does "with Ethernet HEC" mean?
  • thx brought 2 x 1.5m cables… i seemed to have let all my spare cables go out to family and friends.
    • i seemed to have let all my spare cables go out to family and friends.
      So you brought few back
        Sigh. There's always someone who has to play Primary School Teacher.
        Maybe his autocorrect kicked in, maybe he was just careless - was it really worth chiding him in a public forum ?
          My apologies, didn't mean to hurt anyone and I am not here to teach English.
          I posted that just for fun.
          was it really worth chiding him in a public forum ?
          will keep that in mind.
          Fair enough, probably was too quick on the trigger myself.
          Now, let's get those bargains..
        • You guys went grammar hunting in a 1.5M HDMI Cable v1.4 3D High Speed with Ethernet @ $2.69 with FREE Shipping thread? This is not appropriate, all grammar fights are done in Fashion & Apparel deals.
        • -2
          guys relax, i had a chuckle on this comment myself, just a bit of fun ozbargain teasing!
    • sorry bought! my skills are now complete, thank you master! I am now ready to take on the evil internet forums.
  • +1
    Perfect timing - went to mount the tv on the wall, only to find my current 1.5m cable ain't gonna reach. facepalm :D Thanks Rep.
  • i bought the 3m about a month ago for the exact same price
  • Damn, I just bought two 1.5m hdmi today from same seller on eBay for $12.00!!
  • Thanks. Got one.
  • Damn, missed out on getting a 1.5m cable! Any chance for a restock Danilochan? +1 anyway.
  • It would be great if retailer's could abide by the HDMI regulations and stop using the HDMI revisions numbers, which confuse buyers into thinking they need a certain cable, any high speed HDMI cable from revision 1.3 up will give the same performance.
    The only difference is cables certified under HDMI 1.4+ can support ethernet over HDMI, but no products use this feature of the HDMI standard yet.
    HDMI Cables
    Using HDMI version numbers in the labeling, packaging, or promotion of any cable product is prohibited.
    This includes releases of the HDMI Specification (for example, HDMI 1.4, 1.3, etc.), interim version numbers
    (for example, HDMI 1.4a, 1.3a, etc.) and CT
    S (Compliance Test Specification) version numbers (for example,
    1.4a, 1.3c, etc.).
    Cable products that refer to version numbers are considered non compliant and subject to trademark
    enforcement actions.
      If they didn't state the revision number, how would you know it is 1.3 or higher?
      • The high speed HDMI specification was introduced with HDMI revision 1.3, so any high speed HDMI cable must have been certified under HDMI 1.3 or later compliance testing.
        There will be no performance difference between high speed HDMI cables whether they have been certified under 1.3a, 1.3b, 1.3c, 1.4a or 1.4b they will all perform exactly the same, support all the same formats and resolutions.
        The only difference with cables certified under 1.4+ is they have the option to support the HDMI ethernet channel, these cables should be designated 'high speed HDMI with ethernet' and should not make reference to the HDMI revision number as outlined by HDMI.org.
        • Mmm, wouldn't that be a reason for them to state what version number it is? You wouldn't want to buy a 1.0 or 1.2 cable.
          That said, I have a strong feeling all these cheap cables might not have been tested properly anyway.
          BTW, this table on wiki looks useful. 1.4 has more than just Ethernet:
          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Version_comparison
          Compared to 1.3, 1.4 supports higher resolutions (4k), 3D, 21:9 for the few people with long TVs, and bunch of other less-important-sounding things.
          That said, since the bandwidth and clock rate specs are the same, a 1.3 cable should be able to do the higher resolutions that 1.4 can.
          All that falls apart with HDMI 2.0 though. It supports a higher clock rate and a good amount more bandwidth, so it will soon be necessary to quote the version numbers, don't you think?
        • A HDMI v1.0-1.2 cable could only ever be classified as category 1(standard speed), the category 2(high speed)specification did not exist until revision 1.3, therefore a 1.0-1.2 cable would need to retested under v1.3+ compliance testing to be certified high speed.
          Some HDMI 1.0-1.2 cables could meet the requirements for high speed HDMI, but without being retested and certified it can't be labeled high speed HDMI.
          That version comparison on wikipedia is relevant to what hardware devices can officially support under the different HDMI revisions, that is not relevant for cables.
          since the bandwidth and clock rate specs are the same, a 1.3 cable should be able to do the higher resolutions that 1.4 can.
          Yep that's why there is no need for revision numbers, a cable certified high speed under compliance testing for v1.3 will give the same performance as cable certified under compliance testing 1.4b, so for consumers they need to only look for a high speed HDMI cable as there is no difference between cables certified under v1.3 or 1.4b, except if the later supports the ethernet channel, which is optional.
          re HDMI 2.0 it will be interesting to see but the HDMI.org themselves are saying that current high speed cables are fine for HDMI 2.0.
          HDMI 2.0 does not define new cables or new connectors. Current High Speed cables (Category 2 cables) are capable of carrying the increased bandwidth.
          http://www.hdmi.org/manufacturer/hdmi_2_0/index.aspx
          Whether they will need to make a new ultra high speed HDMI standard once 50/60Hz 4k sources are available I don't know, but at the moment the highest official HDMI standard is high speed HDMI.
          The reason the HDMI guidelines don't allow reference to the HDMI revision is to stop seller's like this giving false and misleading information.
          Beware of other sellers that are selling similar looking blue tag coloured HDMI cables. They're not made by the same manufacturer and are inferior to our cables. They're not v1.4b. The HDMI patent holder in the USA has licensed the manufacturer of our HDMI cables to legally produce and export HDMI cables as they meet the highest standards. We are the EXCLUSIVE distributor in Australia.
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/151144498563
          That is exactly the type of false advertising the HDMI org is trying to prevent.
          That said, I have a strong feeling all these cheap cables might not have been tested properly anyway.
          Many of the cheap HDMI cables on ebay have not been tested and are not certified to the official HDMI standards, some don't even have all of the connecter's connected properly.
          The problem with using the HDMI revision numbers is that devices don't need to support all the features of the HDMI revision, so you had the problem where there was AVR's with HDMI v1.3 that didn't support audio over HDMI even though it's part of the spec for 1.3, there are AVR's with HDMI v1.4 that don't support Dolby TrueHD or DTS Master Audio, and there are TV's that support HDMI v1.4 that don't have ARC(Audio Return channel).
          That's why the HDMI org made it part of their guidelines that no manufacturer should be using the HDMI revision numbers after January 1, 2012. That is for all devices not just cables.
          HDMI cable manufacturer's were meant to stop using the HDMI revisions numbers as of November 18, 2010.
          As of November 18, 2010, important changes to the way HDMI cable products are sold and marketed go into effect.
          The following are now mandatory for cable products.
          You shall not use HDMI version numbers in the labeling, packaging, or promotion of any cable product. This includes releases of the HDMI specification (for example, HDMI 1.3, etc.), interim version numbers (for example, HDMI 1.3a, etc.) and CTS (Compliance Test Specification) version numbers (for example, 1.2, 1.3c, etc.).
  • Those who missed out on 1.5m @ $2.69, if you click the link, there is still stock - but at $3.69…
    However, the same seller is selling 1.8m cables for $2.99
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-8m-HDMI-Cable-6FT-v1-4-3D-High-…
    • Oops! different seller…but anyway, I bought a 1.8m cable…(And a 4m cabel from Shopping Square)…Now I got 2 additional cables that will collect dust…
  • Intersting, I got an email from ShoppingSquare.com.au that I made a transaction for 1.5m cable
    • it's just an order confirmation
  • On my 4th HDMI 4m cable, and this is going to fit the bill nicely.
    anyone else notice that the item on ebay under your purchases has changed to "This listing was removed by eBay. If you already paid for the item, we recommend that you wait 10 days from the expected delivery date to see if the item arrives. If you did not pay, you are no longer obligated to pay for this item. If you have a problem with the purchase, you can resolve the problem by filing a claim through our resolution centre." And the sellers name is "scoop2020 | Feedback Score Of 5 | 100.0%" when it should be apusexpress3? My paypal receipt shows it being apusexpress3 but the current listings up on OZB show it being apusexpress2 so something unusual going on here… That and I also got a "MC999 eBay account security communication partner warning" from ebay in my ebay messages but that tells me shit all about which account might be compromised or which purchase or seller/buyer I should be aware of.
    • +1
      I came here just for this, mine has changed to this as-well.
      When I was buying the cable I noticed that the account that was selling them was apusexpress3 and only had 5 feedback, I just thought maybe apuseexpress opened a new account and thus the promotion for quick feedback.
      Now when you click the link above it goes to apusexpress2. I got that account security email as-well, WTF is going on.
      Would be nice if danilochan could clear things up.
      However my paypal email receipt shows that I paid to Apus Corporation Pty Ltd ([email protected]). This is the same address I've paid to, to buy stuff from shopping square and their other apusexpress2 account. So it doesn't look like we paid to the wrong guy, appears to be some ebay account issue.
        Oh good someone else I was worried there for a bit.
        Received my cables on monday so thats good.
        Hmm well interesting to see others got that completely useless email as well doesn't tell you shit about whats happened. They could have at least pointed out the sale or username of who's been potentially compromised.
        Would also appreciate an answer as to whats going on here.
        • +1
          LOL yea I was glad to see your message too, freaked out just now after looking at my ebay listings and seeing this mess. It's pretty weird how an entire account of apusexpress, the one used for the original deal here gets taken offline or hacked or something and they don't really say anything about it.
          It's good you got the cables, I haven't got mine yet but I doubt they are in any danger, yea I'd like some answers too LOL, better to double check and see what really happened.
        • I bought 4x 1.5m and 4x2m in seperate orders. One of the listing was removed (as u said) but received both within the mail on friday so yeah u shouldnt have any dramas
    • +1
      Anyone getting spam messages from shopping sqaure? that might be why the listing got removed..
      • oh yea I do have some Shopping square in my spam folder and it says it may be phishing material/unsafe.
