I guess kmart selling the old model for $29. Looks like this is the new model from Telstra. DSE shop got them for $59, but if you buy online it is $39 + delivery.

It's 850Mhz so not that useful if it were unlocked.
I think the older one having a screen is better. Plus it came with data this looks like it's the modem alone for that price.

Yes it does, I think its micro usb. Same as most modern mobile phones.

Looks like you can get the Telstra Pre-Paid 3G USB + WiFi (MF 70) for $9.50 less but with pretty much the same specs in terms of number of connections and the speed.

Correction, this device from OW does not have any battery therefore cannot be used without the AC adapter where as the device the OP listed allows use without AC adapter.
