If you think this of Jetstar, wait till you fly with Tiger!!!
On a related note….when are Virgin Happy Hour deals coming back? :(
As far as I've heard, they aren't - they were phased out when the system change happened back in January.
They now do those discount codes and mailouts as they are more targeted and flexible from a marketing / selling perspective.
The "Happy Hour" thing was (from what I recall) a special request built into the old system as it couldn't handle complex stuff (like discount codes and reactionary pricing changes) without a HUGE amount of work.
I loved happy hour sales… too bad they are gone now.
For checked luggage, is there a suitcase size limit? Will Qantas say to come back with a smaller suitcase before boarding the plane? Is this the same for other domestic/international flights?
It varies depending on several factors. Read here… Checked Baggage Allowance
Though I've never personally had a problem of any sort with Jetstar (perhaps its because I understand the fare type I book, luggage limits, arrival time policy etc) I would still go Qantas any day, especially as you can generally get a domestic fare for pretty much the same price if you're taking checked bagage. Qantas flights are quite often only 3/4 full and the passengers being mostly business travellers are a lot more pleasant than some of the ferals you get on jetstar. Plus you get a snack included with the cost of the flight.
