    Apparently not. That laptop was on special for 999 before. Was hoping of the repeat but its 300 dollar more expensive than previous deal

  Is this one a good deal for $1200?

  After something snappy that will play basic games on high settings (Minecraft, Fallout games, Sims 3 + expansions & a shit-tonne of cc, etc.) and be generally pretty fast. My 4yo laptop is slow as crap when I've got 20+ tabs open in Chrome (I browse weird) and I need something new! Any advice is good advice.

    i think it's good specs, if it's 999 i would say it's good deal, 1200 makes it a little bit… 'common'

    good point, however toshiba specs seems to indicate the ram is only 8gb as compared to this one. my point is it's pretty hard to go to the store and ask them to discount of the toshiba's website because the specs is different :(
