Got it last time, its good. I just froze the sealed bags in the freezer and got them out one at a time when needed. Fully Defrost a bag overnight still sealed. Crack it open and its just like new!

I'm a coffee snob, and you've got it right - provided that there is minimal moisture in the bags (i.e. unopened and sealed) then freezing is a good ieaa. Letting them thaw out overnight and normalise to room temperature is an even better idea :)

      • lines up with what I've heard, too. Opening while still freezer temp will get your beans coated with condensation. Freezing after having opened them will freeze in moisture. Both are bad.

Freezing while sealed, and then opening after they've settled back to room temp = correct way.

  • Do you have any Kopi Luwak Coffee?

    • Unfortunately Australian customs now only allow the importation of Kopi Luwak in quantities under 2kg for personal consumption and must have been roasted out of the country.

The skill and methods of roasting in these countries are unknown and can be questionable and by the time it arrives here most probably won't be fresh anymore which kind of defeats the purpose as you lose the subtle flavour profiles.

Were we allowed to import the green bean so that we can roast it ourselves then we would have made it available to our customers.

      • That's the pooped-out beans, right?

        • Seriously why would you. Anyone who buys this into this nonsense should cut out a small photo of themselves, find a proper, old-fashioned dictionary, and stick that pic next to the definition of "sucker" and/or the explanation of "emperor's new clothes".

      • I tried once. Customs opened my package and didn't reseal it. =(

  • …dammit.

Exactly what i wanted previously except after the recent Indian Mountian 1kg deal, I now have 1.5kg to consume first…myself.

    |Edit: A little off topic, but what do people use to store the 'daily beans'.
Ie. you open the 1kg bag and put aside 250/500g in some container for daily consumption. Are those Jars with valves etc. worth it?

I have mine in a "systema" brand plastic jug thing. The kind you get at supermarkets with the blue clips and seals (although I think there's red now too). The one I use is normally for cereal, I think? I open the 1kg bag, pour it all into the container, seal it up. then just pour about half a hopper's worth into my grinder every few days. Probably not the freshest in the grinder like that, but it doesn't grind as consistently if there's only a little bit in it.

This would make a great Christmas present for most any coffee-lover … but it's still a bit too early to order it now.
So I very much hope you'll re-offer this again a bit closer to Christmas.

  • Hi manabeans
Can i please pick this up from your warehouse? And is it any cheaper since you won't have to post it?
    thanks

    • Hi guys, unfortunately the deal price and the content needs to remain the same and we are unable to cater to individual alteration requests with this deal. If we do for one we have to do for all and it causes problems with our roasting schedules and logistics.

Tanabe88gg, no problem if you want to collect from our roastery and will happily barista you a free coffee from the cafe ;-)

  • Hope you run this again before Xmas, just got 2 kg of beans otherwise I would grab this.

Rep - any chance you can do this in 100g? Be happy to pay $39.95 (just over half)

    • Would love if this can be done! Or can you do 5 bags? My freezer is fairly small (in apartment)…

      • Any chance of getting another order through for me?

I was waiting until the last day (30/10/2013) to order as I am trying to avoid stockpiling beans here just to see the deal cut short?
