Maybe a bargain if it was at least a 40" TV :D

nice screen, shame about the foxtel though ;)

  • Does anyone know the model of the TV i.e. is it HD or Full HD?

  • I only got Foxtel 2 months ago :(

Have you heard of the Internet?

  • Approximately $15/wk. Not bad I think but obviously after 12 months, whether you continue or cancel will change the value proposition.

Note that Normal Essentials according to https://www.foxtel.com.au/shop/packages-and-deals/?execution… is $47/mth. Therefore you're paying $13/mth for the TV ($156).

    Cheapest Samsung 32" LED LCD on Goodguys is $337 > http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Prod… .

Not too bad a deal I guess. I'm considering as I did want a TV for my bedroom.

i dont think that is the case. The $47/mth plan also has additional one off $150($75+$75) installation =>$714 total cost and so does the above package.

  • wow, they are getting desperate for customers

    • Foxtel is very cheap in US. When I lived there I had it all the time even though I hardly watch TV. However in here I would think a lot before I get Foxtel due to it's price, even if I change my habits to watch TV a lot.
If they bring the price down, I am sure all will buy it just to have it as a luxury. At the price they charge in here people would not go for it unless they really spend lots of time in front of TV.

Considering its a $150 setup fee whereas normally its free. No deal.

    • Setup is $75+$75 as per foxtel.com.au

      One-off costs
      Set top boxes
      Standard install fee $75
      Equipment fee $75
      Accessories (none)
      Total one-off costs $150

Deal if you are not a current customer and are in the market for another TV.

      • Not sure how you've corrected me there.. It's still $150 to get it setup whereas in other "deals" its free. You are essentially paying $150 for what is probably a non full HD TV they are trying to get rid of.

        • Foxtel haven't had a free install/equipment for a while now, they've been clawing $150 back through each new sign up, so yes, it's a deal.

  • To the Op, why would you want to keep the equipment?

To anyone with Foxtel, does the IQ Box the above deal comes with offer HD video or do I need to pay extra?

EDIT: Figured it out I think. You need to pay a one off $75 fee to upgrade to the HD box, and then $10/mth extra for the HD channels > http://www.foxtel.com.au/support/understanding-packages/foxt…

  • As of 11/10/13 Austar has almagamated into foxtel so I assume this offer will be available to regional country folk like me :).
