Bankwest gives you 5% per annual on their saving account, with no minimum deposit. Plus, Bankwest is owned by Commonwealth Bank.

        not a bargain

given that 5% is variable and in the current climate is subject to decrease, you cannot be sure that in 3 months you are going to earn the equivalent of 4.11% with bankwest. 4.11% is fixed for the whole 3 months with ubank, butwhat happens if next month or so rba decides to decrease the interest rate to something very low like 2% and bankwest follows, offering lets say 3% instead of 5%?

    • Careful: the Bankwest "smart esaver account" (which is the 5% account totomvn is referring to, I think) is not available for self managed super funds - personal customers only. (just read the PDS).

  • 4.11 is certainly not the most attractive rate on offer.

It's not fair to compare term deposits vs variable interest, however, Members Equity has a better fixed rate than UBank:

    Sorry not a bargain.

    • It doesn't look like the Member's Equity account can be opened by a self managed super account (= trust). This entry is about a term deposit that can be purchased by a SMSF - not all term deposits can do that, and some pay lower rates for SMSFs than personal accounts

  • Hello -

this interest rate is now 4.51% (and 4.61% pa for existing customers rolling over their existing term deposit)
