  • How much do the gas cylinders cost and how long do they last?

    • +1

$4-5 for a pack of 4 (but an individual cylinder is required for each burner).

      • How long would a cylinder last?

        • not very long…. these are quite expensive to run. i think you get about an hours "burn" per canister

My one has lasted for years and still OK. Haven't used it yet.

          Have you actually used one?

In our experience they tend to last much longer …. maybe 2 to 3, or sometimes even 4 hours. It varies, because you'd rarely run it flat out for the whole time you were cooking.

        • Have you actually used one?

no…. i just like to imagine numbers in my head and post them on forums for my enjoyment……

this was exactly what i said………. it will last around an hours "burn"… obviously if you turn it down or off within that hour of burn its going to last a lot longer…….. in the case of pmupsinep its lasted years and at that rate will last many more years……

i have in the past had a need to run one for longer than a canister lasts… obviously

  • Would that plate still be fine to use straight on top of a fire? Would love a BBQ for camping that could use gas where fires aren't allowed but could also just chuck the plate on top of a fire for when they're allowed.

    • I wouldn't want to put any non-stick cooking thing on an open fire, it gets too hot and would just melt (IMHO).

    Non Stick

For the first use, free complimentary sand paper affect there on in.

  • $40 is their normal price.

Granted, its cheaper than Bunnings, but the Bunnings one is a Gasmate, which is a known brand in these appliances whereas this is the first time I have heard of a Festiva !

I am looking for one myself.

Edit: Just had a look at Coles. http://shop.coles.com.au/online/nsw-metro-winston-hills/gasm…
$32.55 for a Gasmate, same brand as Bunnings.
Coles on is a 7500 BTU, while the ebay one is $7700 BTU, but it costs a lot more.

while the ebay one is $7700

      wow, not cheap !!!

    • The Coles one you linked is a single burner only and has no included hot-plate - not really comparing the same things.

      • When I bought them for $20 in Coles, a few months ago, there was a bonus BBQ plate, so do the four gas cans.

    • that Coles 1 you linked looks like a single burner :|

      • can't find it on Gasmate website at all !

    • but it costs a lot more.

Ahh yeh, not even that much more. Only 40000%

    • hi, I bought the gasmate one, my folks bought the Woolies (Festival) one - they are exactly the same on every part - one has Festival written on it, the other has Gasmate. My gasmate has one side that won't heat properly - the Festival one, no issues at all.
