The shake and win app is back. as previous deal: ios and android. From the terms and conditions, this promotion is running from August to November (please see link below)

For those who don't know what's going on:
You need to 'check-in' at any Hungry Jacks store and shake your phone to win. every shake you generate a coupon that needs to be redeemed in 20 minutes or it will expire.

In order to shake you will need to link the app to a facebook or twitter account. You get locked out for 10 hours after each use.

      No you can't.
      The server seems to remember your iPhone's unique ID and will only allow you to shake again after 10 hours.

      If you're using an Android phone you can just get into the app info and clear data then log into the same account again instead of uninstalling & reinstalling. It should still work. I was doing that after they changed the 10 hours rule a while ago.

      What you can do most of the time (from experience) is: Take a snap shot of the prize screen and show them that. A lot of the time I've found that they're too busy to bother tapping the 'Redeem' button! If you're plan comes unstuck you just fiddle around for a couple of minutes and by this stage they just give you the Whopper, etc.

    I'm not sure you can call this a deal per se, or that it's even "back" for that matter. This app has been around for a while now, and never went away, unless there's something I'm missing…

          Yes but that's 5 deals out of a possible 19 listed up there. Your chances of getting them aren't that good.

          I liked the 50% off deal the best. But it's gone now.

          2 for 1 deals are no good for me because I don't want 2 burgers.

          The ones where you get something free if you buy a whopper are no good to me either because I don't buy whoppers. Nothing against them, but I prefer the chicken range.

    It's just an update. Don't like the new oneed Facebook.
    How do you connect to twitter?
    First pop up it asks me to connect to Facebook. Can't use the app.

    too bad, no more 50% discount. Since the app request the prize from the server, i think what prize will be given and the chances of it will depend on the server, update or not will not make the difference beside the new prizes

    LIES! Just like the old version of the app, I occasionally get breakfast items at night. The old version always gave me frozen cokes for breakfast too.

    Just tried my app on 2 phones and 2 tablets.
    Got Free Medium Fries (not a current prize)
    2 For 1 Bacon Deluxe (a current and previous prize)
    Free Medium Frozen Coke twice(not a current prize, unless medium is the same as regular).
    I am running the old version 1.0.2.
    So it appears that the app controls the prize??

    And no, I am not sitting outside a HJ at this time of night juggling 4 devices in my hands. Fake GPS still works but only for 1 go.

      another guess is that it actually has 2 prize pools, old app connects to old pool while new app connects to newer pool and the same prizes between old and new share the same counter

      As per my earlier comment, it seems that the app controls the prize. If you have an older version then you should still get the older prizes.

    Damn my modified Hungry jacks app that gave me %50 off every time is now useless. Went to get my %50 off as routine and they told me they don't offer it anymore since the app update.
    if anyone wants it ill upload the apk sumwhere, though it's kinda useless now

    This is crap.

    They've added a bunch of prizes that are contingent on you buying something else. The old app had fewer prizes but they were better. You can still get some of the old prizes, but because there's a bunch more crappier prizes your chances of getting them are lower now.

    I used to very frequently get the free frozen coke or free regular fries, which is fine with me. But now I'm going to get things that I'll only get free if I buy something I don't want to buy.

    Hopefully they fix the bugs with the old app, where it's been more than 10 hours since the last prize was claimed and it still tells you a prize is active and you can't shake again for another 10 hours.

      My app screwed up last night near swanston st store. It was my first time using it ever, and it was saying i had already got the prize.

      Turned it off and back on again, and it worked!!

    They started this app to get people in the door, now they are slowly taking away the prize quality and occurance. Get stuffed HJ's. You have lost us now! Mc Doubles and the maccas $2 menu is way better if you want cheap food!

      Bring some of your old phones with you, if you get a bad prize, try again on a different phone. Also if you have friends/family with you, get them all to have a try on their phones.

      I work next to a HJ, so during my lunch break, I'll shake. If it's a good prize, I go to HJ. If it's not something I want, I go somewhere else.

      The chances of getting something I want now are lower though.

      You can do it but sometimes they can push done to see if its real. I don't push done when I serve people but most people do.

    updated it and less chance for winning freebies so just delete it and connect to your laptop which you backup your iphone and you can have the previous version back. It works.

    this update is terrible! after updating, the app does not allow me to check-in and keep GPS searching for location. would be appreciated if someone can share the previous apk version :( i want the old version back!

    Is the old app still working for anyone? Everytime I check in I get a "Checked in" message but not "shake to Win" popup. Works fine with the new version on my ipad
