I never was a big fan of COTD but I had to share this as it seemed like a good deal.

Features:

Powerful 1200W motor with die cast housing and skid-resistant feet
5.5L brushed stainless steel removable bowl
Pre-programmed setting for mixing, whisking, juicing and grinding
Stepless speed control and overload protection
Tilt head for easy operation and tool insertion & removal
Detachable aluminium blades for easy cleaning
3 blade types for mixing and dough making
Includes glass blender & meat grinder/pasta maker attachments - valued at $99* each
AC powered
Also includes mixing bowl with splash cover, dough hook, beater & whisk
12 Month Catchoftheday Warranty Against Defec

I have been in the market for a kitchen mixer and most seem to charge you extra for accessories, for example a meat grinder. This offer includes both the grinder and the blender. There are no reviews under the name Singer. I know they make Sewing machines, but it seems they are now doing everything Kitchen.

The machine looks identical to the Bosco, which has good reviews on product review. The Bosco however has 5 years warranty on the motor, and the singer is only giving one year, not sure why? http://www.boscoappliances.com/products/kitchen-stand-mixers…

12 Month Catchoftheday Warranty Against Defec

means its not local product so your only backup is Con Of The Day. no local warranty

  • means its not local product so your only backup is Con Of The Day. no local warranty

If it is indeed not "local product" would this mean it lacks the needed approvals to be sold/supplied in Australia?

The Lumina 1000W Stand Mixer from Aldi is better and it comes with 3 years warranty.
Plus 60 days satisfaction return warranty.

Once upon a time, the name Singer meant something. I would really like to be proved wrong, but AFAIK in this market they are just a re-brander. When the RRP is $700 and they're selling for this price, that tells you something about it.

hi guys, i work for a deal a day site myself and i do not recommend this product from catch of the day, 249.95 is a standard price for these type of mixers, do not get lulled into buying.

You're absolutely correct! Many retailers in Australia put up their price 3 times as much then later put on a sales up to 80% off. Even selling at 80% discount, they're still making money from their customers. No one will sell below cost, unless they're closing down or going bankrupt.

      • No one will sell below cost

actually what would be a truer remark would be "no retailer sells below usual profit margin" or at least very few…

    Not a deal, IMO.

  • Looks like a Kenwood Chef knock-off.

Why not get the real thing off e-bay for a fraction of the price?
And the warranty will be worth about the same as from CoTD.

    • Originally wanted a Kenwood. But when you buy all the extra accessories that come standard here, the $440 price jumps to $700.

      • But don't forget the Kenwood brand will last at least 10 years. Some people claimned their Kenwood mixer still running after 40 years of continue daily usage.

        • And that's why I suggest a second-hand Kenwood over a cheapy new one.
          There are plenty for sale.
