This is a great stand mixer/cooking device. I had the older version and have had this new one for a few months and love it. I use it for almost everything - steaming, baking, cooking, yoghurt, risotto, stir fry etc. Very easy to use with the Kenwood app and follow along recipes. It cooks, steams, kneads, and stirs.

I bought this a few months ago for $90 more 😑

I do really like it and use it every fortnight or so to do massive meal preps.Being able to set it at a certain temperature plus stir for me for 30 minutes and I just go off into a different room, I find it very useful. I do all my own cooking so some help is nice. If you share cooking duties with your partner though this might seem like a less attractive deal.

The warranty is 10 years. So I think about it more like I'm renting it for $90 a year or so lol

I bought a broken older model (13 yrs old) and fixed it up myself easy peasy, parts are still really easy to get. I don't think this one will be any different, It's built like a $2000 machine so made to last and plenty of spares are available for Kenwood mixers. I think anyone looking at getting a mixer the extra couple of hundred to have a built in scale, induction cooking, additional accessories, build quality, touch display & app connectivity is well worth it.

Looks interesting. Have seem those Thermomix devices, but did not know about these.

  • Pretty sure that "Design Award" is just a paid or award.

  • Can it handle 3kg bread dough without overheating and wobbling all over like my breville?

    • the issue i've found with all consumer level mixers is that are too light weight relative to the rotating dough to handle any sort of heavy kneading. This one seems like it's a pretty typical weight ~11kg, so I doubt it would be any better.

      • I went from a KitchenAid classic to the kenwood titanium xl and it’s better and stronger but still not up to what I wanna do with pizza dough. Ended up getting a spiral mixer instead

    • Best option for that is the Ankarsrum Assistent (proper spelling, Swedish). Available in Australia from Blackwood Lane. Not cheap but worth the money. I’m not associated with the company, just own one and love it. Made for kneading dough, large capacity and very strong and stable.

      • Ooni just launched a dough spiral mixer as well. That could be what you are looking for if you do a lot of dough

  • I snagged the KVL4100S back in 2021 for $349…man the thing is a tank, what a solid unit. I have never used a Kitchenaid or any other mixer for that matter, so can't really compare it, but it's been very reliable in our kitchen. Mainly used for baking and sometimes kneading dough.
