Same response in NSW. They haven't had it for over 1 year. Website is showing out of stock for all postcodes across NSW that I tried.

It is more the unnecessary evolution of the products, there is no need for another generation. And after the less than a year turn around from gen 3 to 4, no wonder people feel burned.

Useless??? There's still so many compatible products for the older iPhones, iPods and iPads it's not funny! And we've already been told that IOS7 is compatible with these older gens. Maybe when the iPad 7 or 8 is released with IOS12, you then might have a lightweight boat anchor
Edit: You also might want to have read of this… Every iPad. It's not talking about the deleted model listed here, but it is about the new iPad2!
I doubt the type of person who buys Ipad 2 now is really that interested in buying the latest and greatest tech.

Surprised anyone has any 3s left, they'd be getting pretty old now! (as far as iPads go!)
Although I would've been more than happy to part with the $350 when DS ran the 64gb 3G out!
Something to consider in deciding whether this is a bargain or not, is how long Apple are likely to support this. Hubby purchased an Ipad1 about a month before this was released (didn't realise at the time that another was due out) and recently discovered it is no longer supported. With another new one due out soon, it's possible they may discontinue support for Ipad2 in the not-too-distant future.
Doesn't really matter, I don't think anyone will find one!!!
Edit: Out of curiosity, I've now done about 20 different postcode searches of different parts of Australia and have not been able to find one single store that has stock!!!

Managed to find 1 listing as Low Stock. But it's an iPad 2 Wi-Fi 3G 16GB - Black for $348 @ BIG W Endeavour Hills.
Unfortunately for most, this is very similar to a Dick Smith reduction!!! Good luck finding a stocked product!That's where I saw the prices for the ipad 3 I mentioned above. iPad 2 wifi 32GB is 2 gen behind iPad 4 wifi 32GB
So price should be $649 - $150 x 2 = $349BigW price is $348, only $1 cheaper than the supposed price
Might want to teach the retailers your version of history. The iPad 2 16gb Wifi has been selling at most major retailers for the standard price of $398 for quite some time now! With the 4 (Retina Display) coming in at $498!
Don't buy it even for basic stuff.
My ipad 1 stopped accepting some apps a year ago (it said update iOS to get this app but Apple stopped making ios updates for ipad1). Also some sites just crash the safari browser (like Lifehacker.com).I think within a year the same/similar is going to happen to ipad-2. So why spend $350 for something that may only work for a year.
(i did try resetting ipad but still had same problems)Just my experience
I saw the same thing this morning and was going to post - but couldn't find stock. In WA Karrinyup and Riverton state they have limited stock, but both say they haven't had for over a year. Good luck to anyone that gets one.
