Chainsaw - Wesco Electric Corded Model at Masters $69 with Fathers Day Weekend Discount $59

110

Wesco corded electric chainsaw at Masters.

  • 35cm Oregon cutting bar & chain.
  • 1800W 240v Motor
  • On the go type chain tensioner.
Following on from the Masters Lithium chainsaw deal recently posted http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/113904 I found this Wesco electric corded model right near it.
It has a solid-looking motor and seems reasonably well put together for a cheapie. Endurance? Who knows? Wesco are Chinese brand but you get 12 month warranty. Last time a rented a chainsaw it cost around $50 for a hour so even if you just need it twice, it should be an OK deal. No dramas with fuel or oil always ready to roar- should be great around the yard.
Original price was $118 - on clearance for $69 and a further $10 off if you buy this weekend ($59).

  • Nice! Wouldn't mind bringing this along to Z-Day :)

    • z-day would never come, they discovered how to grow brains from stem cells.

      how awesome is that?

  • I've had two of these break on me, performance was good until they shat the bed.

    • +1

That's no good. What part broke? Presumably you were able to get a warranty replacement?

  • +1

    Heeeerrees Daddyy !

    • Nooooo Son.. don't I love yo…….

  • Looks like it is from the same factory as the Xceed model Masters clearetd out earlier http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/72798 physically at least.
If anyone can comment on the reliability and user experience from that earlier deal, or any suspiciously similar ones.

    • The Exceed is a chainsaw. It cuts down trees. Not much more to say.
So long as you are in range of a power outlet, they work fine.

      • Thanks manic, what I meant was more along the lines of - Were they reliable for people? Did your fail? If so, how? After pfpozbargain above posted. You never know he could have had two duds from the same batch with 99% being excellent for people.

        • I somehow missed that post. Or just ignored it since he did not specify what broke. Maybe the kickback safety switch tripped?

This is the sort of tool that is typically only run for a matter of minutes in its lifetime. Most people don't fell that many trees. Are you planing on slicing up a load of old logs for firewood?
If you plan to slice up tons of hardwood, I'd be wary, but I'm sure this will cope with pine.

        • Yeah it is for firewood but small amounts not hardwoods. I figure $60 and 12 months warranty; worst that can happen is ultimately its a free rental.

        • Cuts through bones with ease.

  • Sorry but a electric chainsaw just doesn't cut it for me.

Nothing like getting a 2 stroke going at 7am on a Sunday morning and making friends with your neighborhood :)

    • Lol hell- yeahhhh payback for the pissed bogan party suckers.

  • Seems like a good deal to me, I wanted to get one for small jobs like chopping up firewood without have to stuff around stopping and starting the thing.

    • So this baby will start up at the click of a button? Being electric and all
Hmm.. I remember when those key start Victa mowers came out.. no idea if that was revolutionary at the time or not
