do you guarantee any particular band score??

"Discover the exam strategies & techniques of IELTS Band 9 students."
    Basically, be a native speaker.

This is a borderline scam. Many of the things that contribute to candidates getting lower than band 7 in IELTS exams are deeply-rooted structural problems that require massive amounts of work to improve. If you think you can teach a syllable-timed language speaker to fundamentally alter their speech patterns in 20 minutes a day (for example) then you're an idiot.

mmm….I have sat for IELTS 9 times. I have invested heavily into teaching and private teachers, lessons via skype with native speakers. Got 7.5 out 9 for Residency status. Don't waste your money for this kind of courses if you are not a native speaker of English. I am Russian) in my opinion IELTS is a pretty complex test not only in language terms, but also in terms of logic, IQ, etc.
    good luck everybody!

  • Hi Everyone,

I am associated with IELTS Online Practice.

This course has been developed by experienced native English speaking IELTS teachers with several years of IELTS teaching experience.

To answer some of the concerns raised in the comments, no IELTS teacher can guarantee a particular IELTS band score. However this course teaches you all the strategies and techniques that you need to focus on to score well in IELTS. It takes you through all the question types for each IELTS module and shows you how to answer each of them. The course gives you a detailed explaination of what IELTS examiners look for while marking your essays or speaking tests. It teaches you techniques to improve your reading.

For $24 if you can get this sort of information from an IELTS teacher then good luck with that.

There is a 30 day money back guarantee so if anyone is not happy with their purchase simply contact us and we are happy to refund your money. :)

For students who have structural problems with their English grammar, we offer 1-on-1 Skype lessons. These are for $40 per lesson and you get a 1 hour Skype lesson with a native English speaking teacher who focuses on your specific English language learning needs.

    • Ok, So lets get this straight.. You are trying to say that no one can guarantee you a score but you can guarantee that your students can get better scores by studying for just 20 days? and that too just 20 mins a day. Do you realize that just the writing and reading test take an hour each.

So this means you don't really make your students practice IELTS. OK.. What do you exactly make them do for these 20 mins a day for 20 days?

  • "For $24 if you can get this sort of information from an IELTS teacher then good luck with that."

Buy one of these books, read it, do everything it says. They're all under $25 delivered and also broken into bite-size chunks.

I should also actually point out that I've been an IELTS examiner for over a decade.

    • I have a lot of IELTS materials that I can send if anyone needs it. @chickentaste, not sure you have read these books or not but they all have the similar contents.

      • Yes, they're basically the same book.. the academic and general versions of the same book, plus one version which covers both exams. Buy the one which suits the type of exam you need..

        • Agree but this IELTS teaching is a whole big scam. Students aren't guaranteed and that is why they can not do anything if they do not receive a good service. I understand that guarantees cannot be given but then one should at least have some qualifications to teach English.

        • Yes, that's right. And any reputable 'real' English school in Australia has (by law) to hire only qualified and experienced teachers.

In my experience the vast majority of people offering private lessons or online lessons in IELTS prep/English language are teachers who are not qualified or experienced enough to get "real" teaching jobs, or people who are frankly not suited to being teachers (and therefore can't find ongoing employment anywhere because they're too weird/boring/rude, etc.).

I'm sorry, but I can't recommend this product. The website itself is full of grammatical and a couple of spelling errors that would get you about a 6.5 IELTS score. Wisekangaroo: you appear to be about a 7-8 level candidate going by two comments I see here. Not a lot to go by, I realise.

My favourite bit on the site is the twitter account from the UK (https://twitter.com/eliseisles) that has supposedly gotten 9's from you; with a grammatical error in the recommendation. Assuming that account is legitimate (Could be but I'm not totally convinced), a native speaker would get 8's walking in off the street and no prep. 9's with your course might actually be real, because she had an idea of what to expect in terms of structure of the test. I doubt an ESL applicant would be anywhere near as successful.

I am not against you entering the IELTS market and spruiking your product on OzBargain. But if your website is going to be so poorly written, don't expect us to glow all over your product. I strongly recommend you get a professional copywriter at the very least. :(
