There is something totally decadent about shipping water to the other side of the world.
    It's water FFS!

    • It has minerals and bubbles!!!

You shut up sir or madam.

    • As odd as it may seem, I went to great lengths to find sparkling mineral water sold in glass bottles in Australia. I hate drinking out of plastic bottles.
In Europe sparkling water in glass bottles are very common and cheap (I currently live in Germany, 500ml bottles of sparkling water cost about 0.33ā‚¬).

The only locally bottled sparkling mineral water in Australia is horribly overpriced, marketed for restaurants (it either comes from Tasmania or New Zealand). Sparkling water in plastic is overpriced coca-cola water (Mount Franklin), or the Schweppes Natural sparkling. Of course there are other brands, but these come to mind (good marketing I guess).

Buying imported from Europe (mostly Italy) is unfortunately the only option for those who want sparkling water in glass.

Many people will agree with you about not drinking from a plastic bottle. But there is a common solution. This may sound a bit crazy, but have your considered pouring the water from the bottle into a drinking vessel made of glass?

These have been at this price from time to time in the past @ coles. I needed a glass bottle once for a project and at a buck it fit the bill nicely. Tasted nice. And no BPA from plastic, bonus!
