    +1 for user name LOL

Why not actually rate the deal?

I'm sorry people, I didn't realize humanity will die if I +1'd for the catchy user name. Good thing the planet survived, was a close call there.

        wow so much hate…….

i wouldn't have noticed if you didnt point it out. so thanks anyway.

thanks everyone else for saving the planet….

  • Apparently the G710+ and K400R are pretty cheap as well.

This keyboard is pretty much the same as the older G19, which has gone for as low as $99.

IMO, the reason they make newer models is so they don't have to fulfill their warranties.
When one of the legs on my G19 broke they told me they couldn't find a replacement, not even if I paid for it.

    • Under a warranty that is their problem not yours.

      • That's what I thought too but not for Australians apparently. This was the last email I received from them with regards to the G19 leg clips that I bought from LTS:

        Hi leonheart1,

Unfortunately we are unable to obtain these spare parts in Australia,

        Kind Regards,

I think you want to read up on Australian consumer laws.

You are most certainly entitled to a replacement and/or repair, failing that a full refund or exchange for a product that succeeded it (i.e. the G19s).

They most certainly can't brush you off.

Please refer to page 6 of this booklet:

          http://www.accc.gov.au/system/files/Consumer%20guarantees%20…

Respond to them referencing the respective rights you have as a consumer and demand action, if that gets nowhere, ring the ACCC and ask for advice.

        • I had a mouse fail before which was an MX1100 which was discontinued hence they gave me a m905 instead. Though in your case its a spare part so it might be a bit hard for a warranty unless your keyboard is broken

accc will say thank you very much now stuff off and sort it yourself. Contact your fair trading office, get them to contact logitech, then get the court papers and take logitech to court for the price paid and associated costs - approximately $75+ for expenses + court costs + cost of item since warranty advertised at point of sale has not been supplied.Wait for fair trading to say stuff off then execute legal recovery and enjoy. Labor gutted fair trading laws across Australia so if you wanna object to getting screwed over as a consumer there's an election coming up.

@enforcer103 I don't know, that seems like an extraordinary amount of effort for a small plastic clip. @_@

        • +1

          @enforcer
But before you do all this, be sure to get a reality check over a god damn plastic keyboard leg.

        • my suggestion = a piece of lego and blu-tac

    Seriously who would need this?

      Says a console fanboi

      • -3

I'm a PC gamer douche bag. But it's still gaming.

    • +4

These keyboards are really good if you are playing a lot of mmorpg's.
All the g-keys can hold all the macros for multiple games.
The screen is just great for seeing who is talking on ventrilo, rss feeds while you do something else in fullscreen, etc.

Just because you can't see a use for it, does'nt make it useless!

I received one as a gift, but don't use any of the gaming functionality. Backlighting is nice, but nothing special and the colour LCD only ever displays the clock.

Would rather have the Logi G710+ mechanical… anyone up for a trade? ;)

    • Actually the display can be useful if you download 3rd party applets, like LCDMiscellany, LCD SirReal, and LCD Host. Some even let you cutomize the information displayed (ed DL speeds, CPU usage, time, Ram consumption, FPS in a game…)

The macro keys are also useful (eg for alt-tab, to activate my app launcher, task manager), but some people will never take the time to learn how to configure them. Additionally, it is nice to be able the change the keyboard's colour. Also the multimedia keys and volume control are frequently used by me when playing music & gaming.

      • Heh, I meant I never use the LCD for anything aside from the clock - don't really have a need for detailed info like what you mention

I'll admit I do use the multimedia keys a bit, but don't play any games that require macros… thus, the G710 fits my needs better ;)

For that much money, seriously, buy a mechanical keyboard.

    • This. $150 got my beautiful Ducky keyboard which I haven't regret one bit

      • That thing better quack.

        • It's not the only thing quacking in the early hours of the morning

        • +3

I know. Tell your god damn ducks to shut the hell up while im trying to sleep.

  • +2

I'm expecting a self-dust-cleaning keyboard for $150 rather me doing the cleaning

  • Why anyone would have bought this over the mechanical G710 which was going for $117 on Saturday blows my mind.

    • What blows my mind is people would spend so much on a ugly as hell keyboard just to play video games on.

      • Keyboards are a fashion accessory now? That's news to me.

I choose keyboards based on practicality, features and comfort (you know, since you're looking at the screen when you use them) and in that respect, for heavy typers and touch-typists, nothing beats a mechanical keyboard like the G710.

It's a keyboard, how good can rows upon rows of buttons look? (Please don't post a picture of an all-white Mac keyboard or something stupendously pretentious like that).
