Bose Quietcomfort 15 - $399RRP Down to $349 with coupon
Very light and comfortable around ear headphone, powered by a single AAA battery. Very good at noise cancellation, doesn't sound as good musically as the QC-3 or the PSB M4U2, but still a very good headphone. 1 Year warranty

Bose Quietcomfort 3 - $449RRP Down to $399 with coupon
On Ear Headphone, extremely good noise cancellation and impressive sound from an on ear headphone. I was surprised at how much better they sounded than the QC15 actually, especially at louder volume. Before I wore these, I was never a fan of the on ear style headphone as it felt really constricting on my big ears. But these are very comfortable to the point you forget you're wearing them. Powered by a rechargeable/removable Bose battery. 1 Year warranty

PSB M4U2 - $399RRP Down to $349 with coupon
Around Ear Headphone, with probably the most impressive sound you will hear from a pair of headphones under $500. Extremely comfortable for a larger style headphone, you can wear them for hours. Noise cancellation is not as good as the Bose, but this is made up for in the way they perform musically. The beauty of these headphones is you get the choice of listening to them in passive mode(If you're batteries go flat while your out and about, you can still use the headphones), powered mode with the built in amplifier, and noise cancelling mode. Powered by 2x AAA battery's and come with an extra pair of ear pads. 2 Year warranty

  • Paid around $400 for my PSB M4U2, regretted paying so much for them as soon as I walked out of the store until I started listening through them and my worries went away. Fantastic sound, chose these over the Bose as they have better bass.

Very handy that you can plug the cable in on either side. Work pretty well on a plane.

  • A post last weekend had the QC3 for $349 at OW. Cant see how this is a deal for the QC3.

  • As you mention the Bose QC3s have better sound than the QC15s.
However, the QC15s are considered to have the best active noise cancelation bar none.
So the trade off, what’s more important, the sound quality or the noise cancelation?

I saw a brilliant technical review of these a while ago, but can’t find it now.
It shows the QC15s a mile ahead of all others for blocking out sounds like a planes drone.

    • I read a very good comparison between QC3 and QC15 here: http://www.ausbt.com.au/review-bose-quietcomfort-qc3-and-qc1….
I suppose it is up to you whether you would be using them primarily for noise cancelling or enjoying your music. The QC3 still has very good noise cancelling, but to my ears, much better sound than the QC15.

  • Anyone here know where I can test out the PSB M4U2's in sydney? Im so tempted to buy these now..

    • Mr Lee, did you find anywhere? Cheers, Dave

      • Negative.

  • This is a good price for the QC-15. Amazon US has them usually for US$299 and after considering the forwarder shipping charges and the currently weaker AUD, it comes to about the same price as this deal.

  • Any deals on beats?

    • I would highly suggest to stay away from beats and go with one of these mate. Better in the long run.

  • Help: Can't decide between PSBs or the QC15s. I really want the headphones for noise cancelling first and foremost, and I know the QC15s are better at that… but… as far as I can tell the PSB M4U2s come close to the QC15s noise cancellation but have better sound, and come in white which I'd prefer.

Any advice, anyone? Thanks in advance, Dave
