    Read Error

    The system returned:

    (104) Connection reset by peer

An error condition occurred while reading data from the network. Please retry your request.

    • Too many Kogan > Optus requests ;)

      • BOOST = Telstra also

        • Is Boost using Telstra network now?

        • +1

          Indeed.

  • how is boost unlimited monthly plan compared to kogan as they recently increased prices. i dont mind 3 gb data as i dont use that much.

    • +1

$1 more and full next g coverage I am on boost and love it.

  • Hi rep, the price has always been $20 for the starter kit on your site. I just don't see any special about it.
You might consider to offer $20 for the 2nd month as well, I will definitely switch to you today.

    • +2

$20 every month and you got me :p

      • +1

$20 every month and you got me

    • They went back up to $40 last month as i was looking to get one for my mum to switch her from Kogan.

  • Hey rep, you should definitely do a special for recharges as us members always miss out on these half price deals.

  • "for anyone who wants to stay living and try out Boost Mobile"
    Is that a treat?

    • +2

      Treat or threat?

  • The Boost deal seems much better than the Kogan deal. Back in January 2013, I bought a free start sim pack for $10, which supposed to have 100 minutes call credits, 100 free sms and 100 MB data available. However, when I activated it in March, my sim got disconnected the next day without advice or sms. I made a complaint in May, got a replacement sim, the call credits, free sms and data have an expiry date of only one month. Unfortunately I only activated it last week as I have nit been happy with this Kogan Sim Start Pack deal, the sim starter pack expires in one week. I paid $10 and expires in one week seems very expensive to me. I will never recommend Kogan to anybody. I will nit touch Kogan again. From now on whenever I receive an advertising email from Kogan, I delete it without reading it. Very unhappy with Kogan. I read and heard a lot about Kogan and I believe I am not the only unhappy customer. Please do not touch Kogan!

nope, not really interested .. you'll have to come & pry that from my dead& cold fingers since I became a fan of '$5'pGB data- Aldi. (35.00 - 10.00) /5gb. Grrrrr!

    • Don't cha worry sport - I know where to source the equivalent value / bytes
to that in my post + punish the whole saler concerned, w/ the same stroke .

Food:- A sum total -$50.00(pm) off your books; 2 account moving network.

  • If I was on Kogan or Aldi, due to recent court action by Telstra against their upline supplier, I would certainly be considering this deal.

I have already helped someone port their number from Telstra Prepaid. Easy process, same coverage except for 4g with 3 gig more of data and 24 hour unlimited calls, not just 6pm to 6am, and for $10 more. And the suppport is quick and very helpful. Something hard to find these days, even from Telstra itself.

  • Are we able to use the $40 credit on the SIM for Google Play Store purchases?

    • Keen to know about this as well. I tried yesterday and it said I don't have a sufficient credit. Could someone confirm?

    • No you can't as far as I can see. It doesn't leave the recharge credit there like Telstra does(even though they are on the same system), it deducts it immediately and gives you the 3GB data and tells you you have unlimited and $0 add-ons. The only way to have money on it is to have as an add-on pack or whatever they call it but even then I am not sure you can charge it back to Boost. If you are going to do it that way, you may as well just purchase directly from the play store. Although I am happy to stand corrected if anyone has found a way to do it …

Does anyone know when the expiry is for activation? My contract doesn't expire till dec

    • I gave them a call, they said it does not expire until for 2-3 years.

      • got my pack today in the mail, says it expires march 2015!

  • the one thing that makes this much better than the limited network with kogan and aldi, it is nextG, also you can pay a small fee (i think around $15 which it comes with that in credit) for international roaming. where with kogan and aldi will not do international roaming, even if you dont use it, at least get messages etc.
i switch from full telstra to this…no issues

  • oh and i just saw this…another reason to go with boost and not the other two.

    • Or you could have read my post 6 up.

  • Just wondering if we can we use these as top ups/recharge?

  • So who is the supplier to boost?
Is boost dealing directly with Telstra? Or are they using another wholesaler?

  • So, is telstra the same as boost, and will I be able to get 4G?

  • So, is telstra the same as boost, and will I be able to get 4G?

    • Pretty sure this a 3G deal dude & for mine 3G is plenty so long as u got Telstra coverage. I gotta mate with 4g telstra and getting drop outs then the coverage goes to 3G.
Far as speed well that's up to user on how hard you wanna hit it. People on kogan and aldis( Telstra) were hitting like 500+ KB/sec. That's descent and plenty for most.

  • This is what I get 24 hrs after ordering:

    • you ordered boost through telstra?

      • Half-Price Boost $40 Starter Kits, Now Only $20 Online from Boost.com.au

That's what I did. From boost.com.au. I knew it was on the Telstra network, but didn't know Telstra processes the orders…

Edit: Actually, the only way I made sense of it was to check the order number. My first thought was: "… but I didn't buy anything from Telstra!"

        • I called and found out (speaking to the Telstra support desk):

I have to activate the first 2 sims I ordered before I can order more.

  • Could I just buy a bunch of the the $2 sims on a 30-day UNTLD and activate those each month for the same number?

    • No. But then I don't see the point of that either. The $2 gets you nothing but the sim. In any case, they won't let you activate on the same number over and over. You have to port elsewhere and then port back.

  • Website now says the offer is available till 31 August 2013 rather than 6 September 2013. The rep might want to verify this or maybe a mod should change the expiry date.

  • also at big w for a week from this wednesday for those who want their 5% ing cashback :)

  • Can I buy 12 of the $20 sims and just activate them one after the other each month on the same phone number?
