  • Can't view a catalog online??

  • true it was their web page i was looking my fault.

  • Cannot see catalog on their website (WA)

  • Would this oil be suitable for a Toyota Corolla 2005 ??

They normally used to do the engine oil specials including the oil filter as well. This time it's just oil.

    • Yes it will be fine in the car

      • Ooops - Misread the tiny print in the Pic.

5/30 Weight oil is what Google is telling me is recommended for this car.

But have a look at the manual to be sure for your model car.

    • Any oil is better than no oil, but I'd be going with what the manufacturer recommends, not just the cheapest stuff you can find.
I'd imagine something like a 10w-30 or 15w-40 would be recommended for a car of that age.
Check the owners manual or the manufacturers lube guides in store.

      • ^ What he said. You car isnt all that old, put a semi-synthetic oil in it or atleast a DECENT mineral oil.

        • Thanks for the replies guys.

  • How many beers can you fit in that funnel?

  • waiting for castrol 5w-30 FS to be on special again for $39.

    • lol just buy Penrite Enviro+ GF-5 which is a fully synthetic oil for like $52 at Repco any day of the week…

  • When you go to a mechanic for the oil service they use the oil from a big barrels they have. Even if we bring our own oil they can not reduce the price much because most of their charge can be for their time and it has to match with Docs but never come close to plumbers.
Are the oil they have in big barrels are similar to what we buy in small 5L cans? If not can they be really bad compared to what comes in 5L cans? Has anybody got any idea. Sorry I am not good with this subject and I only have questions. :)

    • you can get big barrels of any type of oil - so it depends what your mechanic is stocking.

Generally though I would say that they wont stock more than 2 types - 1x "cheap stuff" - 1x "better stuff"

Your mechanic shouldnt be hiding it - so you should be able to walk straight up to the barrel and read whats on the label. Or at least ask and see what they say.

  • XLD classic bottle says it is suitable for older cars prior ro 1993. However, this oil is classified API service grade SG. Nissan recommends SE, SF, SG or SH for my 2000 Pulsar. All of these service grades are obsolete now (13 years later). Most newer oils sold are service grade SJ. But this oil meets the specification still. Will try in the next oil change and see if it saves me a few bucks!
