  • Someone will ask, so it might as well be me…

How is the dimming performance of these lamps?

    • they are listed as not dimmable but will dim on iron core transformers

    • Specs say "No" to dimmable.
That said i have found that some of my "non-dimmable" leds do dim ok but not to zero light output. (iron core transformers)

      edit: too slow :(

    • I got some of the 7W version from these guys.
They didn't dim at my place with leading edge dimmers (they fade a little then go strobing).
But worked beautifully at my mum's place with trailing edge dimmers.

So… Your kilometerage (mileage) will vary.

from your observation did they look as bright as the 50w halogens you replaced?
may of these replacement leds are "dull" as they only seem to equate to 35w halogen and have a narrow "spot" angle.

        • you wont get a spot angle with these lights i can guarantee you. will replace your money if you do :) the diffuser doesnt allow that. take the diffuser out and you will see a spot light

7W ones in our setting were better than the 50W halogens they replaced.
But we went from warm white to cool white.
And I actually think their bulbs are the only ones that actually
          underestimate the angle.
ie you know halogen leave a parabola of light on your walls?
These leave one on your cornice!

        • at 300lm (warm white), they are less than half the output of a 50W halogen (850lm).
Also worth noting that the typical MR16 lamp has a beam angle of 60°
