  • Is it just standard listings? Or can it add features for free aswell? Such as subtitles etc?

    • Just the listing fee itself is waived.

  • considering you get what? 30 free anyway.. unless you have a heap of stuff to sell (and what to be listed at the same time as when other people have heaps of stuff to sell) then this isnt much of a bargain..

Plus, with their pretty hefty fee increases recently all listings should be free anyway ;)

    • +1 Does anyone know anybody, who got invited?

  • +2

Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only.

    • +1

I got the same message when I tried to sign up.

    • +1

That's what eBay said when I tried to accept the offer

      • I got the email invite yet still got the "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only" message. Promo fail.

        • Maybe you have to click from the link via your email

        • I did. It's not working for lots of people as per comments further down, and eBay confirmation of technical difficulties.

  • I read invitation only.

    • where did you read that?

      i saw this only

•Only members who register for the offer, accept the Terms and Conditions and receive confirmation from eBay that "you’ve accepted the offer" are eligible for this Promotion.

  • I tried and got this message - Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only.

    • it worked for me.

  • +1

    Invite only.

  • I got this email too and when i try to accept it got the same error.

They run this quite regularly coz thats when i list my items. Otherwise fees are ridiculous

    • +1

Mmm, you do know about their fee changes right? You get 40 free listings a month anyway.

      http://pages2.ebay.com.au/Zero_to_list

That's up from 30 free listings a month which was set in Sept 2011.

It's the final value fees that kill … they're still applicable with the above offer.

      • Yes but i sell stuff that is $3.50. They now charge
A $1.50 flat rate for listing which in my case is not worth listing at all until they have 100 free listings.

I know they have free listings a month but i use it up quite fast

  • +3

    Hmmmm..

No upfront fees but we take 10% of final selling fee plus any paypal fees….Who are they kidding…
BUT I still have not choice but to use them as I get ridiculous price for staff I sell on ebay… compared to gumtree.

    • I get ridiculous price for staff I sell on ebay… compared to gumtree.

      I thought that was unlawful.

      • maybe he's talking about his oversized walking stick…

  • I'd be more interested if they were offering a reduction of their exorbitant FVFs! (as noted by others)

  • I too got the message "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only." when i tried to accept the offer though my email invite…. How else do you get invited if not from an email from Ebay itself?

    • Same here after clicking on the link in the invite mail :-(

  • You already have 30 free listing a month which should be more than enough for any non-store seller.
They still charge a hefty 10% of every sale you made.
And it seem this is invitational only so no deal

    • It's 40 now.

      • damn havent sold anything with ebay for a while since they jack up the their fees to a stupid amount.
Didnt know that it is 40 free now.

  • I got the invite but still got the message.

  • Yep - I received the email from ebay but I also get the message "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only." I had a chat with ebay representative and they said they are "experiencing a technical error"

    • +1

maybe they should the FVF up to 15% to fix it?

  • It looks like the only benefit with this offer, is an increase in the maximum number of free listings from 40 to 100. Or have I missed something?

    • It's an additional 100 listings over this weekend. It will not bite into your 40 normal free listings for the month. All good, provided you can get their stupid invite to work.

  • This deal is not even that great to begin with (would appeal to too small a proportion of people). For most individuals 40 free per month would suffice and as people above have said, this is invite-only. As I said in the last deal like this posted, I would've much preferred to have had 30 listings free per month and be charged 7.9% final value fee instead of bloody 9.9%…
