  • how is this different to the $9 ones good guys has from time to time or the ~$20 everywhere has all the time? (apart from the obvious brand name)

    • This item has a 2 Year Replacement Warranty, it could also maybe be the size of the item, perhaps the reliability, what capacity it is. Without knowing exactly what to compare with it is hard to say.

Yours is $55.95 incl delivery to 3000

Plus this isn't a very good deal for a rice cooker. Probably same quality as abode.

I'm glad it can also cook pasta, its so hard to cook it normally!

    • Well I guess it's the same concept as rice which can just as easily be cooked on the stove top with water… I guess the cookers just make sure you don't overcook them

Pasta is literally put it in boiling water for X minutes then drain.

Rice is not that simple and the timings etc change often.

Also keep in mind that a Rice cooker is also purchased so that you don't need to take the rice out on the exact second it needs to - keep warm function.

Pasta must be taken out the second its done, which means this machine serves no purpose, the keep warm function will just keep cooking the pasta and saturating it.

It offers no more convenience then a pot, and probably doesn't do as good as a job as a pot anyway.

  • Why cant the rice cooker industry use standard cups! I assume its a 180ml rice cup size in which case it would fit 10 cups of dry rice and no water. So in real world you might squeeze 5 cups of rice and water in it ?
