Normal price for 3TB USB 2.0 is $129.
Normal price for 3TB USB 3.0 is $139 and 4TB 3.0 is $179.

@OP
Nice try but do a quick search first before posting
Thanks for the tip, but it's WD not Seagate. I felt people looking specifically for WD would benefit.
thanks, order one.
I don't understand what you mean.

You are so native OP and just like your first post.
Thanks for sharing regardless of that wasn't a bargain.
At least you tried to share.
Cheers
You're welcome :-) Happy to share.

How about YOU do a "quick search" and show us the deal where a WESTERN DIGITAL drive is cheaper than this deal?
I just picked up a USB3 3TB at Officeworks for $109.
which brand / model please?
That would be the Seagate one from the deal a few days ago!
Plus the Seagate one's got 3 year warranty
Because the Seagate 3TB, using USB 3, with a 7,200 RPM hard drive inside and 3 year warranty for $10 less is available at Office works I can't consider this a bargin.

It's safe to say that some people are as parochial about HDD manufacturers as they are about footy clubs or Oprah vs Ellen. I agree that the Seagate is a better buy but some here won't touch them for whatever reason they are using this week. It's certainly a good deal for them.
Can you crack these open and use the hdd in a desktop?
Absolutely, compatible with SATA3.. but.. you will void the 3 year warranty :/
what's the normal price?
