  • For a shipping quote please add the item to cart and click on the " Estimate Shipping ".

It comes up with free shipping to Melbourne, is that correct ?

I might get one if I win Lotto tomorrow…

    Hi Jv

Majority of the spirits dont normally have a Best before dates, the older the better especially Cognac.

We do have free shipping on some products but not all unfortunately not for this product. I've just checked and there isn't free shipping for this product.

Fingers crossed you win the lotto :)

  • augh hell yes & hell no
I really don't earn enough to be drinking cognac as often as I do, but damn it's good.
Having said that, There's still some 'cheap' stuff I really enjoy, like JW double black.

    • +2

True cognacs not your everyday drink. When you say " cheap " Johnnie walker double black isn't really that cheap, these days the Johnnie walker , chivas and single malts cost as much as your normal cognac range.

Johnnie walker double black - $52-$55

      Hennessy VS - $58
      Martell VS - $62

Even if you move on to the next range

      Johnnie walker Gold - $100
      Johnnie Walker Green 1L - $99

      Hennessy VSOP - $69
      Martell VSOp - $75

These days prices for cognac are pretty close to your blended whiskey and Single Malt. End of the day it's just based on preference.

      • Suppose it's cheap for me compared to some of the other stuff I like and it lasts me quite a while, but yeah not cheap-cheap like $2 wine a couple of years back.

I wish I flew internationally more often, last time I went a lady at the Sydney JW counter let me sample all sorts of expensive stuff, which I really appreciated because I found out I didn't like them, haha.
I was thinking of getting blue label for a while but when I tried it, found I only liked it slightly more than double black, which is 80% cheaper. Also tried a bunch of other stuff including some $600 special edition thing, thought it was awful.

Cognac counter was unattended though, really wanted to try some Remy Martin.

hahah think we all wish we could fly internationally more often.

Yea cognac market in Australia is still not huge that's why our prices are high and stock is always limited as they get shipping to the rest of the world more. I've been lucky being in this industry I get to try alot of cool things, but one thing I realized is that " expensive stuff " doesn't mean it always taste good to me. Its all down to personal preference at the end.

Remy Martin is a good brand, but they have dropped in sales due to the company not pushing the brand as much other others like Hennessy or Martell.

My personal favorite is this Martell Cordon Bleu as I personally think its better then any XO, I find it much smoother.

        • I actually hate long haul flights, but… hard to say no to free expensive liquor. I'm a bit of a light weight too so I can't sample too much (cause flying drunk is seriously uncool), and all the sales ladies keep offering more samples when I'm undecided.

you're a great rep, I'd say something like "I'd buy you a drink", but considering your line of work that's probably pointless, hah.

        • Haha thanks! But I don't drink that much myself anyway just like try new drinks and good to know what I sell taste like.

Hope you get more free samples on your next flight.

    selling for $175 a bottle, RRP $200 a bottle [save $25 a bottle ]

Are you lying about the savings rep? Please clarify to us how we are saving $25.

Also due to the tiny discount, for anyone not able to pickup in Melbourne, after shipping it's roughly the same price or cheaper at Dan Murphy's

      Hi

Price do change quite often for imported spirits ( CPI tax increase twice a year or currency conversion rates etc ), our price did go up recently with a new batch of stock we purchased. If you have a look at the Martell 1L bottles the price hasn't changed as we still have old stock. So until we have run out of stock and have to purchase a new batch we wont change to the new price.

At the moment the Recommend Retail Price (RRP) we have been told by the wholesaler is to sell for about $200, if we where to purchase a case without any deals.

The company has offer to help us move stock by offering us further discount so we can sell it at the current special price from now until end of Financial year.

Yes that is true with interstate shipping, the cost will be similar to Dan Murphys Price. As a small local bottle shop in Melbourne we cant compare with them who owns 100s of shops. Being a small local bottle shop we cant produce enough interstate shipping to match the shipping cost like Dan Murphy does.

This deal works best if you pickup instore or if you can purchase multiply bottles to save on shipping. If you add local Melbourne shipping the price will still be $10 or so cheaper then Dan Murphy.

The discount could be small but for this product it has never been discount like this before.

I Apologize for any misunderstanding. We do try to keep our online store information as updated as possible.
