C850/09V page not found, search reveals it's unlisted.

C850/05E out of stock in 10 stores nearest me.

C850/04Q available at Brandon Park, Vic Gardens and Camberwell, but I think the price is rather ordinary given the outdated spec.

As the next gen CPU's are out now, old stock will be thrown out with all brands soon.

Hopefully MLN or similar will get a ripper deal with volume so we don't spend all day on the phone and in the car. Remember when MLN had a lot of the HP DV3 units at $599 3/3/3 ago? Now THAT was a great deal with good volume to back it up. I must have onsold about 10 units back then….and I didn't Broden it as stock was there! I personally think that was the best deal ever at OZB.

    History lesson: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/22803

    • Why would old stock be thrown out? it's not like the Haswell chip is more than ~15% better. An old i5 is still alot better than a new i3, etc.

  • no stock what is the point.

  • Im so sick of these dicky posts always stuff all stock anywhere

    • +8

I guess its depends on where you live. I have bought so much stuff from dick smith over the past few months from their clearances and click and collects. Even right now I live in Melbourne and the C850 shows in stock in 3 stores within 7 km of me Malvern, Camberwell and Box Hill. It might not be a bargain for you but I find it to be a bargain.

"been posted a few days ago…"
Then why repost the same S@%t

    • +2

the price dropped 50% more, so there must be stocks in somewhere they want to clear out

      From $261.45 to $130.73

      • Not really necessary I saw too many items price keep dropping even no stock for a long time.

      • +1

they reduce the prices on clearance items to get rid of any remaining display/returned stock

      • Where is the stock? If you can't find it, how can we? Make some effort.

        • display model somewhere? Maybe one that might have some cosmetic damage. I've had a dicksmith staff try to convince me a laptop with a broken monitor was a bargain.. and they would throw in a display model LCD screen 19".. They said it was a bargain. I think not lol.

    a loser

  • Repost, Page not found, no stock within 20kms etc etc.

  • Another post about DSE = Dodgy Stock level Enterprise

If the items are less than 10, shouldnt be posted

  • Wow some stock in my area, what were the odds. The stars must ave aligned today
    Is this laptop any good?

    • where do you live?

  • No Dickie for you!

  • +2

AH Cmon man, you know this deal is bull crap, and yet you still put it up, me, when i see the first dick deal, i went to the site and just click sort from low to high in notebook laptop section.

  • If you really got one then why bother posting here cos that'll be the only one dick got

I bought the last 2 at Altona store (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/105914) - Thankyou ccwwayne, one brand new, one "floor stock" that its power plug wasn't in properly, and still was at setup menu after I pushed it in :o.. I felt like the bargain king! The friendly staff where like you are the luckiest guy in Melbourne!!
I am sick of "i am sick of no stock deals", sure this is the first time this happened to me, but a bargain isnt a "regular sale" its a "bargain", it has a sense of uniqueness to it, if that was the "regular price" it wouldnt be a bargain, it would be a "RRP"!
So people who lost out & continue to "lose out", tough! It's happened to me sooo many times, but today I lucked out, and I was rewarded with not one, but TWO pearler laptops.. BARGAIN!!!!

So whats next, lets ban tattslotto as only one or two people usually win.. whats the difference with having 50 "bargain" items for the masses.. if you dont like it, then move on, DSE isn't going on OZB to publicise it.. we are!

Keep the "first in best dressed" open to anyone opportunitys AKA BARGAINS rolling in.. long live the DICK!!!

    • using tats lotto as an analog isn't quiet correct, because the "stock" of lotto number is heaps. I never heard any player whinging because of running out lotto number LOL

if you got a bargain then congrats, thats your bragin right and just like you've claimed - luck!

as per OZB rule, any bargain that has less than 10 - is not worthy to be posted

      • Granted its a loose analogy, but a bargain has an element of luck to it from my perspective, hence the use of lotto to highlight this, and your use of "stock of numbers is heaps" is misleading, as the chances of getting the right tattslotto numbers (stock?) is so remote (stock - I don't consider purchasing a 1 in 8million chance as stock, and the amount of winnings is dependent on other "stock holders"), but lots of us still hope for it!! I just want to highlight, that only a very small percentage of people will "luck out" with these types of "bargains", so its a type of "free lottery" that we all have a chance in, and we didnt pay a cent for the opportunity, so welcome it in my humble opinion!

          OZB is a community,
any deal posted in here hopefully will be useful for "most" of the member or people who has interest in this website

Therefore if only a few who got the bargain, then it's not within OZB point of view.

You just drifting away in lotto winning story which is up to you.

DSE has serius stock availability on every post - is it coincidence, or some cheap marketing trick who knows
But one thing for sure, on every DSE posting mostly followed by no stock and thats a fact

Lotto? is always available, never seen before a shop that has to closed down and put sign "Lotto sold out" or "No more Number"

        • Yes, a community that is providing an opportunity to us all. "DSE has serius stock availability on every post - is it coincidence, or some cheap marketing trick who knows".. huh? They are offloading limited stock, we are "marketting" on OZB not DSE. I haven't seen a lotto store that says "We have stock! So you better buy up now as we are a community business and we know that 99.99% wont win!!" You only buy a chance to win in lottery.. here you are offered (if your quick) a tangible item at a bargain price if your lucky (hence the anlogy with lotto)..
"But one thing for sure, on every DSE posting mostly followed by no stock and thats a fact" <— Fact? Why isnt anyone quoting "Fact - No other store is offloading a limited set of items at a very reduced price???" They are "selling" us items - who defines whats "not enough bargain items", we get on the phone, and we ask "hey.. i saw your site has "limited stock" item, do you have any, yes or no.." DONE..

        • -1

Absolutely disagree with you. If its available to 1% of the community, I would rather that that 1% got it than nobody.

DSE currently has a few top deals on the front page.

Deals like this one are not posted by DSE. would you prefer they just bin the low stock stuff instead of leaving the remaining few on their website?

          honestly. get over it.

  • No stock

  • DSE, out of my shopping list from now on!

  • Could it just be the case that this sale is a few days old? I understand this is long running issue but the laptop deals are a few days running as stated.

  • +2

    meaningless post, waste of time

  • Showing "in stock" for Toshiba C850/05E Notebook at Brighton & Malvern if anyone in VIC is interested.

  • Dick Smith have had major changes lately, providing fertile ground for bargain hunters. It is inevitable finding stock will be difficult at the very lowest prices, but posting such deals for the lucky few must not be discouraged.

  • hahahaha, all of you have been dicked mate.

  • Not according to ilikecheapcrap's experience at Altona. HTID09 also found stock. This is a valid bargain.
