  • some nice price there especially DMC4!

  • Nothing really special imo.

  • Thanks for that. Picked up NBA08 for $17.
On the price tag it said $37.47. I told the Check out chick that it was $17 on the internet and she said ok and gave it :)

  • shame most of the wii games there sound lame.

Is there actually any decent wii game in that list for someone in early 20's?

    • The real question is their any decent Wii games in general. I really regret my Wii purchase.

    • There is a fair bit of shovelware on sale but Excite Truck is a pretty good arcade racing game and Metroid Prime 3 is a first person shooter/adventure game
look up the reviews on www.metacritic.com if you want more details

    • That's why serious gamers should never buy Wiis.

They're for grown up kids and kids. Everyone in between just stick to Xbox's or Playstation's.

      • Well that's your opinion. The wii has some great games and the controls really improves the gameplay for many games including first person shooters and 3rd person shooters. The problem is that developers are too lazy or don't want to take a chance making games for the wii which is why almost all top wii games are made by Nintendo.

Using a gamepad for fps feels archaic once you use the wii controls. I can understand those who would maybe own a wii plus one of the other 2 though. Gamepads are good for games like platform games but since fps and 3rd person shooters are the most common genres, I'd rather just stick to PC for those type of games if I can't play it on the wii.

        • -1

That's the whole point. Nintendo just doesn't want to shift away from this whole "family-friendly"-oriented position they've always had and try to steer clear of serious game developers.

Hence their consoles while promising, just end up being really lackluster spectacles with cheap gimmicks like motion-sensing controllers.

I don't care if I play with a gamepad or even a one-button joystick as long as the game is enjoyable and immersive. And not brainless crap like WiiTennis, WiiFit, Guitar Hero, etc.

The only reason the Wii sells is because it's being marketed as a kid's toy, not a console. And kids always want new toys to get their hands on.

          • +1

@Miami Mall Alien: Erm Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid 3, Zelda Twlight Princess are some of the best games ever made. I have a Wii and a 360 and enjoy both. Enough trolling.

            • @bargainy: Yeah according to one guy. And like I said, that just proves my point. Zelda, Mario, Metroid are pretty kiddish stuff imo.

              • @Miami Mall Alien: You said it yourself "as long as the game is enjoyable and immersive"

All those Zelda and Mario games are enjoyable. Does it matter if their 'kiddish'? A game like Mario can make any other game look like crap if the game isn't good…regardless of whether it's a hardcore badass shooting game. I don't see Zelda or Metroid being kiddish at all. Maybe you like your games to be all GTA style but some people do get a bit tired of it so they want a change…hence the reason why people have a Wii with PS3/360 like I said. I like the Wii cause the good games that are on it are refreshing.

And btw, the wii controls are not gimmicky. If you had played a good wii game that uses them effectively you'd know that. I guarantee the next consoles from Sony and Microsoft will have motion sensing controls like the Wii cause it has always been that way; Nintendo innovate, others copy (rumble pack, joysticks etc). Oh I forgot, Sony already did copy it in a last minute change with their tilt sensors. Except theirs is the gimmick…hence the reason why barely any PS3 games use it.

And not all games on Wii are 'kiddish'. House of the Dead Overkill, Madworld and Conduit to name a few are some new ones coming out.

  • just wondering if this only for melb only or ???

    • I think its in all the states as i am in WA and they had the above deals. They didnt have many copies of the games though. I think its best to ring the store before you go in.

  • I picked up Mirror's Edge at Chadstone for $30. The games are located in the clearance section. Most say $90, then a small sticker on the front with the marked down price. Didn't seem to be anymore copies of Mirrors Edge though.

  • Call of Duty 3 is $40 for PS3 and $70 for Wii (If they have any Wii copies)! What a ripoff for Wii owners. Xbox360 and PS3 owners seem to get much better choice/value for their games.
