Supreme 5W MR16 LED Downlight for $8.95 with $9.00 flat Post

40

We have a special on our 5w mr16 ($8.95) Supreme led's made in taiwan. Having the diffuser, we ensure your light gets distributed evenly across the room, just like a halogen would. We have tested these on a lot of electronic transformers but we cannot guarantee it will work on all (if you have an actec or possum dont bother buying :). It works well on your old iron core transformers and if you need a transformer, check out our efficient 60w Anchorn transformer. These work well on all our LED range and consume 0.3w sitting on idle.

Our lights have our own C-Tick number for your added comfort so stay away from those cheap imports

  • I bought some of these MR16 Supremes from you before (I think they were 7W) and they have been good so far. Only one failed after a while and you exchanged that without any problem. I have some questions :

    • assuming I did get 7W before, what is the incandescent equivalent Watt rating for the same output (for the 5W and 7W)?
    • is there no cool white for this offer?
    • you mention 45 degrees beam in the description but 60 degree in the specs, is this conflicting or just different things?
    • how long is this offer for?
    • the beam of 45 deg is really too narrow to just replace standard halogens as they need to be 120 degree.
I used 60deg in my lounge and have "1.5 wide dots" on the carpet compared to the halogens that "filled the floor"
You really need "real" 9-10w 120 deg leds with 850LM to have an impact.
Unless of course you only need to illuminate a small area.
      YMMV

I was annoyed when i purchased "9w" leds from victorialighting off ebay only to find they were really only 4.5w (ohms law)with a bullshit 9w description…..totally misleading

sorry good pickup. Yes they are 45 deg but do go wider in my opinion because of the diffuser. I would say these are like a 35w halogen but everyones tastes are different. Offer is for 1 week :)

  • Does it work with Tridonic Atco Viper?

    • It should be find. I havent come across that tranny before. Have you tried any led's on that tranny?

  • Is that $9 flat for as many ordered or each?

    • or 1 or 100 like some of our customers, it will cost you $9

Hi Rep, newbie question. My existing halogen bulbs are 12v. Can these just replace my halogen down lights? How can I tell?

    • no, usually you need a different transformer

    • if you have a actec or possum transformer, dont bother, but most other electronic transformers will without a problem

    • Plus 1 for that answer

I purchased 12 of these downlights from energysaver.net.au in December 2011.
Most of them flicker and 3 of the 4 in the bedroom no longer power on.

They may be a bargain but unfortunately do not last :(

    • did you replace halogens?

      • yes I replaced the halogens

    • I beg to differ and not because i am promoting my product. I have less than 1% defect rate on my lights. What kind of fixture did you install them in?

      • They're in the ceiling to replace existing halogens.

Most of them flicker quite noticeably. How can I tell 'what fixture' type it is?
I can have a look tonight.

Though yes, a few have failed (won't turn back on) so I replaced them with the old halogens :(

        • what brand transformer are you using?

  • Are these dimmable?

    • well some have got them to dim using the old iron core transformers

  • Hi,
How do you know what sort of transformer you have and whether LED's are suitable. do you just pull on the wire until the transformer comes out? or what do you do exactly.

    • exactly right just pull gently on the chord

  • Do you know if these will work with the "Lucci" Brand electronic transformers that Beacon Lighting sell?

I think i have this one

    • they should be fine
