1 - That doesn't show up in the catalogue you link. It's possible I'm cookied to my local (Belmont, WA) though.

2 - "great snack for any party!". I just threw up in my mouth a little. It was slightly better than eating seafood sticks as a snack.

EDIT I'm completely wrong on Point 1. I stand by Point 2.

You did throw up?… oh.. poor thing. I've updated the description now, so this should stop your regurgitation. Great comments!

    • Packet of BBQ shapes and a tin of smoked oysters… that's a great party snack :p

    Nothing fishy about this deal.

    • it is a fishy deal in deed.. hahahah

      • He probably means it literally though. I'm not sure there's actually any real fish or seafood in this stuff :D

      • no fish… just fillers…

        • To be fair, it's mostly fish. Whole fish. The kind they can't sell. Ground into a paste. The whole unsaleable fish. Unsaleable whole fish mush. This isn't hyperbole.

I'm not going to be shellfish and neg the deal but seeing it did make me a little crabby.

  • What is in Seafood sticks that allows it to cost $3.40 a kg retail.

Nah I don't want to know …. It would ruin the mystery.

    • I prefer farm sticks.

    • something that is not seafood

    • you see all the offcuts at the fish market?

    • +2

It is seafood, but from fish that is not normally sold whole, which is processed, and mixed with flavour enhancers. Has the same connection with fish as processed meat has to steaks. Look up surimi.

I was imagining fish heads and high-pressure hoses, but its not that bad:

Sounds less awful than hot dogs or chicken nuggets.

  • Here's your Surimi and how it's made. Straight from the manufacturers web site.

  • The Decor Thermoglass has no stock even before the promotion starts! I went to 5 Woolies and only managed to find the 3 litres one in Carnegie North. There were only 4 and I got one. Anyone knows where they stock the 500ml and 1 litres ones?
