        That is true, not sure why you got negged. Nintendo actually recently sent out a mass message over the Wii to tell owners that the WiiU is not just an upgraded Wii but in fact a whole new console.

        Problem is nobodies Wii's will receive a message when they are pushed in that back of the wardrobe gathering dust.

        Like I said, there's always going to be a bunch of people who are oblivious and buy blindly, but I don't think their numbers will be high enough to affect whether xbox or ps ships the most consoles next generation. Microsoft seems to think so too, otherwise they would've called it the xbox 720.

        In the case of the WiiU, it flopped mainly due to not having enough games and new features. I haven't heard about any research that shows a significant proportion of people refused to buy the WiiU because they thought it was an add-on.

  It won't let me use the coupon, I'm on the US site and in the cart I have $15 worth of MS points, but when I apply the coupon nothing happens and no discount is added :(

  I managed to acquire roughly 10k codes so I think I'll just stock up on MS points. The last time I ordered 60+ individually shipped item (the $2 ecko jeans) my UPS guy didn't look so happy. Plus it was kinda awkward for me.

    I am not an expert but I will try to help you.
    1.you have to create a new account for xbox with a fake US address or change the region from your account profile from the lower left side.
    2. Go to US MS store from OP's link purchase the points or anything you wish above the value of US$10 pay with card or paypal and apply the code for the $10 credit amount.

    But it seems MS is rejecting AU credit cards and Paypal payments because of people abusing this promotion.
