I'd probably go with HD7970, it's cheaper (less than $400) + 2 games can be claimed.
Not sure if this "Superclocked" GTX670 is gonna be better than GTX680/HD7970?

    • I'd go with Nvidia…

You get a game with the GTX670 too - Metro: Last Night

      • I thought the free game for only for US/Europe.

Superclocked will be on par with reference GTX680 but I don't think many people will be getting a reference 680 unless they are overclock enthusiast.

AMD is always about value and NVIDIA is always about stability. I've seen so many AMD issues with my friends and I steer clear from them lol.

      • +2

AMD user for 5 years and I haven't had any major issues.

        • +2

Im not saying all of them are bad. My friends always tell me the drivers are a pain to dealt with if you want to play games at launch date.

        • -1

Well now you got 2 people telling you they ain't

Both Nvidia and AMD have had issues with launch titles, I had a 6990 and it was bullet proof, although I like Nivida I wouldn't pay the higher cost for the same performance of a cheaper AMD part

Depends what you're into, but more of the A+ titles seem to be more optomised for Nvidia. BF3, Skyrim etc. I think AMD had Metro 2033.

        Nvidia is a safer bet.

This isn't cheap - MSY does the Gigabyte GTX 670 4GB OC for $465.

And I'd go with Gigabyte over EVGA.

$4 for shipping seems pretty reasonable? Besides the difference is only <10 clock.

I'd go with EVGA over Gigabyte

    • +2

Problem about that Gigabyte, is it is 3 slots, this one is 2 slots.

    • i negged ur comment just because i'd go for evga over gigabyte.

      • I +'d ur comment just because I agree

      • I think eVGA's warranty is longer.

But looking at the fan on that card, I don't think it's going to be very quiet.

Gigabyte GTX 670 4GB OC is not EVGA GeForce GTX 670 4GB Superclocked.

And I'd go with Gigabyte over EVGA.

You neg the deal because you prefer Gigabyte?

    Baseless and pointless neg.

After 600+ posts , I've learned how to ignore baseless comments and neg votes.

      Clearly.

"You neg the deal because you prefer Gigabyte?"

err no. It's basically the same card and specs, for the same price.

I'm not saying the Gigabyte is better, I'm saying that there's nothing special about this EVGA's price. Hence its not a bargain. Hence it shouldn't be on OzBargain. Get it?

"After 600+ posts , I've learned how to ignore baseless comments and neg votes."

Watch out, we have a real genius here.

I don't think it was worth negging. There isn't just neg and + you know. There is a neutral state if you don't think it's a good deal. Negging should be reserved for 'bad' deals. If the price is the same as the Gigabyte, it's not a worse card, nor is the price more expensive. At worst, they are equal. Not negworthy IMO.

        • +1

Disagree. This is OZ "BARGAIN" if the price is the same as someone elses normal price then there is no bargain and should be neg'd.

        • Only if that someone else's price is already up on this site. If it wasn't and someone else posted it, should it too be downvoted because it's not cheaper than this one?

a laptop vs a graphics card?!?!

I havent even had any problems with drivers from AMD before. Have had problems with NVIDIA though. I still hold no preference of brand, whatever offers the best value for money at the time of me buying a card is who I like. Just keep in mind that NVIDIA is about to do a card refresh (700 series) that will pretty much be rebranding the 600 series give and take a few things.

AMDs new cards are set for the end of this year.
