Hi guys. First post for me. I like headsets, buy many more than I need. I usually go for the plantronics DECT headsets which are $300-600 depending on model. Found this great deal at the Telstra shop today - a DECT phone, very slim , blue backlit screen etc, nice base station, speakerphone plus a DECT cordless headset which pairs with it all for $99. They had them advertised in the shop as on special for $119 but when I went to pay it was actually $99. Been using it and it is terrific.

What's the range on the handsfree? It it bluetooth? I have GN Netcom 9350 which operates on RF 1.9Ghz frequency hence the 150m range. If it is bluetooth then it wouldn't be of much use since range would be around 10-20m max.
It's not bluetooth, it's DECT so you can walk all over the house with it. The headset has a boom mic and a speaker over the ear - it comes with both an over the ear clip and an over the head band.
The plantronics bluetooth version headset only is $300, range under 10 metres so you can't walk around the house with it. Not much use really.
The sound is fine, not on par with the plantronics high end cs60 and cd70 models but they retail for $600 and you have to have a separate corded phone to plug them into.
All up, I'm really happy with it, for the price.
I know that the cordless phone is DECT, but is the handsfree DECT? The specification is not very clear - anyone got a manual or have bought one before who can confirm?
Many thanks for the info Reebar!
Hi
Sounds interesting.
What's in the headset a speaker and a mic?
