  • Not sure if you can still get the $30 machine from K-Mart but mine is still going strong after four months of use and you don't have to spend $189.

    • +1

To be fair, you also get 100 packs of doritos with ur coffee machine for ur 189 bucks… :p

      • Can we upsize to CC's? ;)

    • Presumably you or someone still spent money on groceries but.

    hmmm…. $10 more and get one with a frother…

    • I've read mixed reviews on the steam wand versus a $3 Ikea frothing wand.

The Perfecto also appears slightly more complex to use, but you may have a different opinion.

My guess is Woolies are either overstocked or hoping to sell a lot of coffee.

      • +3

Overstocked. They've been $79 at my local WW for months and aren't moving. Just like the ones at Coles, Aldi, Kmart and BigW aren't moving. There were initial fad purchases and now no one cares. Do they trap you into buying proprietary little capsule things? Or can you use any brand of capsule things?

        • The capsules are 'Caffitaly', but there are several suppliers, including some who direct import. Standard price is 65c per capsule, but specials come along often enough on the capsules to bring them down to half price.

        • yep…. lots on ebay

        • $69 at my locals for months too, the piles haven't eroded at all…

        • +4

Sorry to hear about your piles; try a high fibre diet.

        • just made my morning haha…

        • I'm just glad that they haven't eroded…that sounds painful…

  • That sucks did shopping yesterday, anyone know when the deal finishes

    • COB Tuesday 14th May.

  • +2

Excellent. I'll pick up my $150 worth of pods.

  • Or pick up one on clearance at Coles for $39…

  • +2

I reckon it is gonna be unconditional 39 after a month.

    • You could be right. Just like the shortcut bacon they are selling for $5 per kilo without spending $100.

  • Just a reminder the Coles Dolce Gusto machines uses the nescafe pods which the HN rep told me contains instant coffee and not ground coffee. The woolies and the perfecto machine uses the MAP/Caffitaly pods which are very good and there are numerous sources including gloria jeans pods. They are also cheaper as they come 16 pods to a box instead of 10.

    • I wouldn't trust a HN rep for anything. Do your own research first.

      • The HN rep is half right here..

The cafe latte pods for dolce gusto are instant coffee, as they inlcude coffee and milk powder in the same pod.
The other varieties are proper ground coffee.

  • Cheap at first, but just 1kg of coffee for this costs from $50 (home brand) to $120 or more.

If they start selling them with 1kg of coffee included, I'll buy and throw it out when the capsules are gone, just like with an inkjet printer.
