freecopypromo

In a rather literal interpretation of BOGOF, 1minime.com is offering a free duplicate of your custom bobblehead.

From email,

Purchase a doll on our web site at www.1minime.com during the month of May and receive a free identical copy of your order! Simply enter the following voucher code during the last step of the ordering process: freecopypromo

So that's the same head, on the same body. From their checkout buying a duplicate normally costs $49.90

Awesome if you have an evil twin or two heads, otherwise you might need a get a little creative to get the most of out it. (Bookends? Bobble gargoyles for the front gate?)

I've used these guys before and wasn't greatly impressed with how it came out. They only give you one chance to edit your image and mine started out looking nothing like me and even with all my comments it ended up looking nothing like me. The Fiancee's bobblehead looked closer to her but stil not very accurate (even cartoonish looking) but at least you can look at hers and say 'yes that's her'. Mine you can't.

Also you pay extra to make it bobble.. how do you sell bobbleheads by default that don't bobble?

I also got one made for a wedding (my sisters), and had ok results. The bride looked really good, but initially the groom looked like one of the beetles (little chubby cheeks, bowl haircut, pale skin) - he is Indian! I asked them to make him darker, which they did, but he turned out to be kind of yellowy dark rather than brown/black Indian dark (which was highly inaccurate but I thought made him look hilarious).
Seeing as how the pictures I'd grabbed from Facebook didn't show him in the best light I figured there wasn't much to do about it.

I would have been a little peeved if it was my head, but much funnier if its a gift for the brother in-law :) All depends on how serious you need your heads to look I guess

Completely agree with extra "bobble" charge!

  • rip off!

  • Is there a better quality company that does this?

  • I won't get one of these until they can 3D scan my head then construct me with a 3D printer !

    • You can already get that done.

This deal reminds me of that episode in the Big Bang Theory where Raj buys a bobble head doll of himself off the Internet and it ends up looking nothing like him lol. Anybody remember that episode?

    • Hahaha I was thinking of the ep when I read shmahoo's comment!

  • I am content to have purchased a few "Wackelkopfs" off Amazon for under $20. They have ones like Einstein, Socrates, Darth Vader, Yoda, Raiden, Gandalf….
