Wait so it doesn't come with a power supply? Shouldn't it come with one? My old Seagate 2TB did.

My friend was looking for one a couple of weeks ago and this drive was $79 according to OW.

OP probably means that it "uses an external power supply", it's not one that draws power from USB only, e.g it's not a portable/laptop drive
